Sure there are your "special snowflakes" but I'd call them the noisy minority.  Most people just want to he happy and free to live as their true authentic selves, but society's black and white way of handling things can make it extremely suffocating for anyone who doesn't neatly fit in a box.

You know had I known just how far my life would've crumbled, I probably would've stayed closeted for a bit longer. But that's not exactly how it ended up happening. I actually would've stayed closeted due to fear, shame, and so many layers of denial and uncertainty, but I was pressured to kind of just get it over with.

But still, living the way I was before did feel rather...suffocating.

I also should probably say that the reason I was first so defensive about it (before I realized I should just keep my mouth shut) is that I had a really difficult time seeing people say really transphobic things and all the weird twisted misconceptions with it. It was hard for me to just sit and be quiet when the things people were saying were just...so wrong and messed up.

Ultimately it only reaffirmed the fact that I wanted to stay silent about it because it showed me how stingy and bullheaded some people can be, even in the internet. I didn't want to have to deal with it online too.
