Maybe to keep anon posts anonymous. If not people can figure it out.

Still works for me.

There were complaints of using the feature to stalk other users,
Quote from: Cheat on January 04, 2015, 11:39:47 AMThere were complaints of using the feature to stalk other users, Really? You'd need to be dedicated for that.Aside from what threads they look at, every user's posting history is already available to view by anyone who wants to see it. Are there plans to restrict that too?

Quote from: Byrne on January 04, 2015, 11:59:22 AMDid many people have a complaint about this feature?I'm curious, but if you don't want to say I won't push.I was one of them who requested it; I didn't know others requested it, too.I didn't ask for him to remove it ENTIRELY.I just wanted the option to keep my actions hidden, because I received notice that my actions were being watched by people in Anarchy. Which is obnoxious. If you have people in your buddy list, I think it's reasonable to let you "stalk" them. But only then.
Still, though, if you actually looked at the page, that thing gave some intimate details as to what you were doing. Down to whether you were looking at a specific thread, or posting in it. I mean, I can imagine some users would find that a little creepy. I've expressed in the past that I don't care about my privacy, but I felt like if Dustin was watching me, I should probably take cautionary measures...

I do believe they allowed people to go invisible though, but it would tell you how many people were browsing hidden.

Quote from: Nuka 'Kal Vargun on January 04, 2015, 08:26:19 PMI do believe they allowed people to go invisible though, but it would tell you how many people were browsing hidden. That's all I asked for, initially.Quote from: Rocketman287 on January 04, 2015, 08:27:05 PMWould you prefer if it simply showed their online status, and nothing else?Well, no, I mean, if you're okay with people knowing exactly what you're doing on the forums (and like I said, I normally would be fine with that--my problem is that I was worried people were going to use the actions against me somehow), you should be able to have that ability. I'm just saying, for those of us who want to remain hidden, for whatever reason that may be, they should have that ability.

You're right, it is paranoid. I still don't like being fucking stalked. There's a difference between not caring about your privacy and wanting to be stalked. To say that the information could never be used against anyone is myopic. If someone's spying on you, they're typically not doing it for the fuck of it.
