I'm new, read the rules, seem simple enough.

just a quick few questions.
1. the draft i saw before said swearing was fine, but people use frack or frick instead of...well. the f word. is swearing not ok anymore?

2. Where do you stand on shitposting? not allowed anywhere except the flood?

just a few things i was wondering...

There is an automatic word filter put in because of some trouble with our advertising provider (Google)

Yeah shitposting is fine just don't do it any other board besides The Flood.

We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.."
I suppose we all thought that one way or another.
Yeah, hopefully we'll have our good 'ol swear words back once the ad nonsense is sorted out.

No, adsense (which is/was our main ad provider) basically gave the forum a warning because they didn't like the way we talked around here, and threatened to cut off service. They don't like servicing websites that post cursing and sexual content.

1.dont they service youtube as well? because im sure the whole comments section on a religious video would be enough...
2.wait that happens? i thought those ads were just there no matter what...didint know an ad company cared about the content on the site...would it be acceptable to say "*says number eleven*" in place of a swear word? if you get that reference...

Let me help.

You won't get banned for swearing. If the filter takes care of it, so be it, but the stuff not covered isn't going to get you in trouble.

If you're not creating a new topic (IE: you're replying or quoting) bypassing the filter isn't a big deal, as guests can't view replies to posts (including adsense bots).

Yeah. In case you can't tell, we always have a ton of guests lurking. Like a crazy amount. Often times they're equal to the total amount of members online, and sometimes even more. After the adsense bullcrap, it made sense to just make it so that guests can't see anything past the OP since they're obviously going all creepy stalker on us.
