Serious / Why is Globalism bad?

what exactly is bad about globalism. if everyone is united then efforts to increase the quality of life for all are put on the forfront of things to do, and it's one point to agree/disagree on the general direction the slowly united world is going towards but what if there is a trend in globalization that favors western way of life ( which there already is)

isn't america a textbook example of globalization? the goal of out forfathers in america was a Nobel one if you ask me, if we can unite all peoples together for a common purpose, what is the downside of globalization?

Serious / Considering a religious conversion

Ive been seeing a girl of mine romantically for around 3 months and she's made me seriously consider converting to the Muslim faith.

I know this websites obvious hatred for the religion and can guess what some of you are going to comment but I feel like I can still live a peaceful life under it's guildelines.

It's really been the peaceful nature of my woman and her family that has won me over from my original religion. The contrast of my own family issues under the Christian faith compared to my gfs life are really boggling.

Any thoughts and opinions are welcome. But don't come here to just hate. Looking to get as many opinions before I commit

as you all know, the sole reason of me looking for a place like this on the internet was to gather material for my upcoming book study on internet communities and what not. Although i'm not the most active member her i'd like to think i have a good understanding of the internet culture of this place and feel it's appropriate to make the large base of members aware of my activities.

in my book specific usernames won't be mentioned.. or at the very least i'll scramble them.

anyway i'd like to get some feedback as to how you'd breakup the demografic of this website to be according to certain member interests as well as common threads of interest that brought you guys to this site in the fist place

The Flood / Accidentally Had sex with freinds gf

I feel really horrible. my friend and his gf and I were all watching some TV in his house I went to grab more cheetos in the kitchen while his gf was in the bathroom (the bathroom and the kitchen are in the same general big room). and as soon as I'm done pouring the bowl she opens the bathroom door and asks if I can "help her with something" I didn't know what was going on but i said what and walked over to her and she just grabed my private and pushed me into the bathroom and undid her cloths. We had sex for only like 1 min and I went into the sink because it was a big surprise and I didn't realize what was going on. I really do feel bad afterwards because we were all sitting on the couch after we did it and my friend was oblivious. she has been his gf for around 5 years too. Don't know why i'm telling you people i guess just to let out what i've been keeping inside for a while.

oh and his gf keeps on trying to call me.

I don't get the blind hate people have for Hilary Clinton. she has served the united states for over 20 years and has done a solid job as a diplomat. Yea people are grilling her over the behngazi deal but it's the job of some people to dig up dirt on others prior to elections. All I see is blind hate from the right while donald trump who is just an idiot is leading the party. Does a woman in a position of power scare people? because her policies are really not bad at all.

this is coming from someone who supports some republican views as well.
