It's a step in the right direction, and really Deci was a misunderstood individual at best, but that's a completely different topic that's rather debatable. Most of it is his fault, but like I said, it takes two to tango. Well you're not wrong on that last part.
Deci did have a knack of pushing people past their limits of what they were willing to tolerate though.
Again, I would say he was heavily misunderstood, and after being made fun of each time he came back, at least he made an effort to try. I do know he fucked up and he has told me he has many regrets, but he's at least put them behind and moved on. Some probably saw him as a frustrated an really angry person, but I don't think anyone really bothered asking why he is the way he is, but again, I don't have anything to prove in this.

Not really. I like to think of it as filtering. I know there is a block feature but that's rather useless. Maybe the same can be said with this, but it is preferences at the end of the day. That's what I mean, you can't really express yourself without getting shat on here, hence you cannot be yourself. At least some can't due to the lack of compatibility.
The key is to not give a shit about what other people think.
It's not the question of "oh no, what will this person think of me if I make this thread or this post? I gotta worry! Fuck!" It's mostly people getting tired of seeing the same shit or at least receiving the same shit, or not the expected results they were expecting. Knowing this community I actually expect shitposts and less constructive posts since they are now considered to be sperging, but new people aren't going to see that right away, and this website is pretty brutal to newcomers, or at least it can be. I'm pretty sure XSean was getting tired of the major stupidity here so he just decided to make this post and not give a fuck. If he really wanted to draw more attention to himself, he would have posted in this thread again and again. People like to say goodbye in good manners, but knowing this place pretty well now, it's best if you just leave quietly and not look back. At the end of the day all I've said can just be dribble really, because I'm not expecting this to go very far, but at least it was a nice discussion to have for once.

It's safe to say that most people aren't legitimately hostile and that it's mostly satire. While this sort of overall tone didn't have to be the way this forum would turn out, a combination of how moderation is handled and anarchy basically led to how people are now.

I still blame how moderation was handled in the first year for how this community turned out. It's what happens in the beginning stages that sets the tone later on. People will always test the limits, and if you allow them then they'll keep doing it. The rest just adapt to it or leave/die off.

It is false advertising to anyone on B.net, and I recall that this place would recruit from B.net previously, and the majority of users are from B.net, so saying that we're an original community is rather false. The website itself is very functional and well made, but it is the community that makes it or breaks it, and honestly, this community breaks it. It's like a ghetto neighborhood, used to be nice but now it's fucking shit. Thank god some of us have lives outside of this website and some of us know when it's the time to leave, OP's mistake was he made a thread that he was leaving, but him posting that he's leaving and changing his name isn't so he can have attention. It's expressing disappointment with the community, he wants to let everyone know he's done because he doesn't really want to deal with it anymore, and knowing Sep7agon no one is going to give a shit and some will even meme his current username just to make fun of him. It's the same repetitive shit over and over again. It's getting old. Posting stuff like "Let's dace" or "fam" isn't fresh anymore.
