Gaming / Re: Are overhyped games better or worse than underhyped games?
« on: December 13, 2014, 10:21:48 AM »
When people don't expect anything from underhyped games and they have something up their sleeve, it's usually better.

exactly. because if you dont know much about a game because it hasn't been broadcasted enough and you buy it, it turns out awesome.

Gaming / Are overhyped games better or worse than underhyped games?
« on: December 11, 2014, 10:01:07 PM »
Think about it, alot of overhyped games that came out this year were actually pretty bad. Watchdogs for instance had a bunch of things wrong, including bad graphics. although that was based off a comparison between the e3 demo and the actual product or whatever... Titanfall was just a mess, and We all know what happened to destiny.

yet from what ive also heard, sunset overdrive is pretty amazing. The game was pretty underhyped right? then again some underhyped games are also pretty bad too. But it does certainly beg the question. Are underhyped games worse or better than those that are overhyped?
what do you think?

Only once. you get granted the chance to change ONE thing in the world. it could be something that you did, or a event that takes place at some point or even change the course of history itself. For me, i might tell my younger self to not do a number of stupid things...and maybe leave a few free games around the house for me to find along with an xbox and 360.
i mean i would prevent a few deadly events, like plane incidents and conflicts but which one?

anyway...what would you do if you had the power to change one thing?

what the buttery jesus? xD

5
yeah....that....

caught me offguard again...no audio...its just the image...and its 12:30....*dolphin noise*

*dolphin noises*

*says number 11*

i knew it would be posted eventually...

6
This is why I never click anything with .swf as the extension.

i never opened the image in a tab, i couldint tell if it was a gif, a swf, or something else..however ember pointed out users can somehow embed vids in descriptions of pics...so...thats something...

7
OP, why not link that image/whatever here?
ONE:i didint exactly get the image link. i got the area where the image is...care to see it?

http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/846060-my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic

apparently KYM as a system allowing users to embed a video in the background of a image. so someone decided to add the toredor march in the background of this little gem...since KYM is inconsistent, it plays and sometimes it wont...

i blame obama.

8
i don't know if someone said this already but the notes for the image had an autoplaying video
so if such things are true...that means...that the gif, was also playing a video, which means the gif is the most elaborately hidden jumpscare ive ever seen...alright then...
what

no

on kym you're able to make embedded videos start playing automatically when you open the page

the person who uploaded that gif just put a fitting autoplaying video in the description

oh...so, wait then why were others not getting the video playing too?
idk, it can be inconsistent sometimes

well, that explains alot...i can now go to bed knowing that the reason i was temporarialy scared for a good hour of any and all gifs was because KYM was inconsistent with the audio and decided to scare the *dolphin noise* out of me the second i raised my volume for a show i had in the background...

thanks internet...you never fail to amaze me...

*sigh* im gonna edit the OP then go to bed...and then im gonna mute my speakers on all future visits to KYM. just in case...

approximately 21:52 (i dont know what that would be in a non 24hr format...that was the time format in the history section)....then i was curious to see if it would do it again so i clicked it one hour later...then i just copied the link and bolted....

That would be 9:52 PM. What timezone?
EST

yes i know i said it was at 11:00, BUT, i went back to check with the audio muted...the page wouldint close...and then it did, and then i hate google chrome for always lagging when closing pages...

at least i got the link...

You're hallucinating then.

but....i could have sworn that....ok then...if i was hallucinating...fine...im tired...it happens...but, the audio sounded so genuine like it was actually coming from the speakers as if a video were playing...

i might just check it tomorrow and see what happens..at least morning is better to see that image...

Gifs can't play sound as far as I know.

It was probably a Webm, which can play sound. Or an SWF.

so, that means that it wouldint work on mobile, ok that makes sense, i asked a friend who was on mobile they said they heard nothing...so that clears that...

but wait, they also tried it on their computers on chrome and it didint work, so how or why did it only work on my computer so far?do you think its something with the way my settings are configured for chrome?
As far as I'm aware SWF files should work the same on all browsers. It uses Adobe's Shockwave Flash to work. But I could be wrong.

if it were uploaded as a swf wouldint the end of the image (example:.jpg .png .mov) say .swf instead of .gif?
If the file was created to be a swf, then uploaded as a swf, then it should stay as a swf file.

im 100% sure the file was a gif....so that, explains, nothing...apparently another user i showed (on Bnet) said something about a comment involving the file and changing it or fixing it...
Well you could upload it as something else, though I don't know why you would want to. If thats the case then it was either user error or the website's fault.
well its either user error or the websites fault that im not sleeping tonight...which is just great...im intrigued by how it happened and really want to go see how but everytime i click the link i feel like if i scroll down the gif will go full screen the second it "ends"...its a strange fear i know but still...

wait im confused are you implying the user uploaded it has something else (which is most likely the one you meant) or did you just suggest i upload it here (which is just a big pile of NOPE)
I was suggesting that the person might have made a mistake uploading it too the site, that or the website screwed up with the file itself.
ah...yeah chances are he had messed up, maybe if i opened the image in a new tab and checked the end of the link for an extension...in the morning...
Link? I could look into it.

do i just...post it?  alright...quick explanation because the link is awkward....i have no idea, as to why this image was in this image gallery. this image did not involve the topic in this image gallery. dont ask. its a long long story...have fun headphone users...(cause i dont know if theres a scare hidden in the gif...i didint stick around to see.)

http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/846060-my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic

long story, dont ask why that says MLP. if you want to know what image im referring to, then hopefully the image link is good. i copied it fast then bolted...
That would be a gif file mate, gifs cannot contain sound.

but...i swear...it played audio....how did it...i heard the song though...did you wait around the gif for a bit? maybe the audio was muted ( im actually pretty creeped out now, no one else but me has heard this song from this gif now....and that actually scares me a little...for multiple reasons...)
I found the problem in the comments, the website does not allow for that file type, or so it seems. Not a problem on your end, just the site's.

so the site sometimes messes up and runs the script to play the audio and sometimes doesint or...the site just messed up and played the swf instead of the gif? or something i totally missed....

20
*raises right hand, places other on heart*
swear to god. no joke. audio played and my volume was so high that i almost broke my chair. for reference the audio playing was the toredor march, the song that appears in the five nights horror game when the player loses power...

if there was no audio, then did i just hallucinate the audio symbol appearing by the X button for closing a tab?

ive come to the conclusion that the OP of the image may have possibly messed up the image resulting in one with audio being uploaded as a SWF named a GIF file by accident. thanks internet...but regardless, still made me jump a bit. volume was loud...

maybe it was a SWF and your memory of the incident is contorted from the fright
the name said it was a gif, i saw it in the preview...the eyes were flickering...so i was intrigued by what it might be...then that happens...maybe it was a SWF....if not thats pretty strange IMO

like a video?
i guess ill go into detail
the image was the FNAF bear thing standing in a dark corner of the image, eyes peering out...let me explain again, i was browsing know your meme for funny images cause its been a boring saturday evening. and after links were clicked, i came across some fnaf memes, which were surprisingly pretty entertaining...i knew i should have expected jumpscare. i clicked a suggested image, one that had been posted in the MLP gallery for some reason, one character was sitting adjacent from the bear in the dark, eyes glowing and flickering...and worst of all? the toredor march playing loudly...at night...for me? terrifying...

but the extension said .gif so how did that happen?
