i just want you to love me
And I just want a son who isn't a failure, but the world doesn't allow nice things to happen.
hey, i'm not a failure :(

i only smoke that bubonic chronic like once a week
so you're a failure once a week

you know how often i'm a failure? :D
lmao

I sense a perverse pleasure in your application of descriptors though... 'annihilated'

'wiped from existence'

oh my
what are you implying

Deer screaming in the pitch dark night next to you while you're walking in the woods is pretty spooky the first couple times.
the poor creature that died might have been a deer now that i think about it

The Flood / pretty sure i just vividly overheard an animal get slaughtered
« on: September 29, 2015, 11:50:08 PM »
and by getting slaughtered, i mean annihilated by a predator. my university was built on a national preservation and the surrounding areas are filled with wildlife. i've seen a black bear on campus and have almost hit a deer while driving home, so this kinda stuff isn't really new to me. but this is something i've never really experienced before.

so i'm sitting right by my window(which is open because i like the cool breeze) and all of a sudden an extremely high-pitched shriek started coming from outside. i couldn't see anything because of all the trees but i heard the bloodcurdling scream of an animal getting wiped from existence by another animal that wants to eat them. wish i was able to discern what type of animal it was but i could hear sounds of flesh tearing and growling so the predator could have been a bobcat.

tbh experiencing that is making me feel down and has me thinking about life. glad we as humans don't have to worry about predatory dangers in the night like that, eh?

I drank it

well OT, i tried a Sasquatch Stout when i visited canada over the summer and that is definitely one of the best brews i've tasted, it was like a guinness but so much richer in flavor.

1871-1914.

Also,

Quote
Enlightenment era during america's colonial days. a time where people questioned the status quo of including religion in every facet of their lives

You know that the Philosophes were a very small number of people, right? And the people in the colonies that shared their views were also a very small minority?

Because if you're implying that the Enlightenment is the common man questioning everything about his existence then you're quite incorrect. It's more like a well educated upper class man reads literature by one of the Philosophes and then talks with his small club of four people about what he's read.
it's the fact that it was only a small amount of people who brought this up that intrigues me. paine published The Age of Reason and was ultimately pinned as insane by the majority of the population back then. i would have liked to be apart of that.
