To return to the topic: Who was your favorite show there, Nasty?
damn, this is a hard one... while flux pavilion and loudpvck both had killer sets, i'll have to say that carnage, kaskade, snails, and bassnectar were my favorites solely for how energized and fun the crowd was during their shows. i'd say i got the most moshing time out of bassnectar, and i left the pit without a scratch. but on the flip side, kaskade was just so uplifting and really set the tone for the rest of the last night.

What would you say is the best way to prepare for one of these festivals?
from experience i'd say that eating a full meal before you enter the festival and bringing a Camelbak with you are probably the two most important things to do. considering the fact that festival food will always be overpriced as fuck and having access to water at all times while you're dancing throughout the day is very important. also, if you aren't familiar with the type of music that will be playing at the festival, do some of your own research on the lineup prior to showing up. it'll make enjoying the music so much easier.

Are there moshpits at festivals, or is that a rock/Taylor Swift exclusive thing?
well at this specific festival there were three different stages, all with different styles of electric music. the stage that played most of the basshead music was where all the moshing was going on, which was actually really fucking fun to get into.
Moshing is fun. Much better than crowdsurfing, especially when the people closest to the stage are sniveling weaklings.
it was just so surreal watching almost the entire crowd mosh in-sync with the music and each other. i've never seen anybody crowdsurf but i can assume that it would be a lot more painful to be dropped while crowdsurfing than fall while you're moshing.

that's not a question and all kinds of people go to these festivals for different reasons. i had a blast the first day and i wasn't even on drugs.
