Well, that's the point. Hans was a master manipulator, so much so that he literally deceived the audience. To put any kind of hints about that would ruin the point of the character.
And yeah, Elsa only came back to her town when Anna showed up and pretty much made her. Like I said, the only thing that made her change was peer acceptance, while Anna changed due to her experiences with Christoph and the world.
Anna did not make her She came back on her own accord She could've every well stayed up in her castle where it was safe And it wasn't just peer acceptance It was acceptance of her sister and of herself She spent years fearing her power and staying away from her sister In the end, she was the one who embraced her power and let her sister in

Elsa is not a bitch
they are on equal standing
elsa is pretty much a little whiny bitch who's afraid of her own shadow and chills in her little ice palace the whole movie. She has literally no personality or memorable character traits other than shooting ice
Anna on the other hand actually drives the plot, she's funny and charming, and has tons of unique personality traits and flaws. Also she gets like three great songs and Elsa only gets one passable one

Anna was just a catalyst for her to overcome her demons and venture out

Anna while having a lovable personality didn't really progress as a character (which is fine) but only served as a means to tell Elsa's story
Anna was kinda a traditional quirky girl who fell in love with a guy story
I know why Elsa is a whiny little bitch, but she's still a whiny little bitch regardless. Her only "transformation" throughout the movie isn't due to any inner change, it's due to the fact that people just up and decided to accept her. She changed from shut-in to queen because the people's opinion changed, not because anything about her did. She's the truly static character in the movie. Anna is really the one who changed the most. She went from shut-in as well (it wasn't just Elsa who couldn't leave the castle) to headstrong, wise, perceptive girl. Look at how she interacts with Hans and Christoph in the beginning of the movie (total trust, wide-eyed, innocent) to how she acts at the end (perceptive, smart, quick-witted). Anna has the better personality and progressed far more as a character. She was truly the protagonist of the movie.
for real though, the real best character was Hans. Never has a Disney movie tricked the audience into thinking the main villain of the film was the typical Prince Charming character.
But Elsa fucked shit up She basically damned her home to everlasting winter and practically poisoned her sister She could've stayed up there in her castle and stayed in her false sense of liberation but she chose to come back and face her fears Elsa was the real hero I mean she had the right to whine Her parents died and she stayed locked in for her whole life By choice too that shit's rough And she didn't even whine that much We spent most of the movie with Anna and Elsa didn't come out of it until Anna confronted her So she was only in that state for like not even half the time Anna was always that awkward funny girl While it was fun watching her interact with the world, there was no change She just finally got what she wanted As for Hans Dude is a devious basterd which is why I like him so much But his reveal was soooooo cliched there was no foreshadowing or hints that led to that moment He was the brave handsome knight one moment and then the cunning shrew the next It was a literal M Night twist
