I know a lot of people like to go hur dur "It's just the internet." The statement is true. It is, just the internet. But those people who blindly use that term as an excuse to wave off and abolish themselves of any responsability over their actions are missing something.

It is, just the internet. It's a free space. You can say and do things you wouldn't normally do under the scrutiny of the physical world. Which means that it's the deepest, and closest reflection to what what makes you tick deep down inside that you will ever get to see of yourself without going to some medical proffessional.

I can't preach like a saint here. I'm guilty of being a caustic, sarcastic cunt some days. On purposely being belligerant. I don't live the peachiest life right now, and I'm desperately lonely and feel on my own, devoid of love. And it shows.

But I never try to stick a knife in somebody where it hurts. Because I certainly could try to do so. But what would that make me? If I can't get a grip over myself in a space that's free of repurcussions, then how could I do it in a physical sense?

That's why I'm not a fan of people who fall back on the excuse that "it's just the internet" and that you should just chill. They're right to a degree, but so very wrong at the same time. And that's why, on the internet, I do what I can to minimize being a cunt. I choose not to because I know that what's in my words here, and in my head counts for something.

It's not all a pointless, untouchable sheltered escape from the real world. It's a very real reflection of yourself, just deep down and hidden.

Give that one a thought.
