What is the purpose of karma on this site? I downvote SC every day.
lmao I forgot that was a feature still
I did too until about a week ago lol
It used to have a more noticeable effect but high activity counteracts bad karma.

I apologize for this thread, I was young and wanted reactions

I'm trying to be a better person

doubt

wasnt totally sure on some of the questions, since how I think I am and how others see I am are different

Also I think one way but usually end up doing the opposite
the trick when it comes to these quizzes is to understand the question behind the question—like, if there's one that says something like, "i've always been into things like basketball and baseball," and you put "strongly disagree" because you're only interested in football and soccer, you're kinda missing the point—because what it's really trying to ask you is if you enjoy games that involve working with teams and physical activity

there's another proposition that has to do with whether you follow routines, so for that one, i sort of had to think of myself in a different/more idealized state of mind—because while i don't happen to follow any routines right now, it's only because i'm depressed as fuck, and don't really have my life in order; so i could put "strongly disagree," but that wouldn't be 100% accurate because the fact that i don't follow routines is very distressing to me—i wish and strive to have a plan that i can consistently follow every day to sort of dig myself out of the emotional hole that i've dug myself into over the past four years—so from that angle, i can put "strongly agree" in order to reflect an ideal

the only proposition that stumped me for a while was the one that had to do with having a wide variety of interests

my gut feeling to that one is "yes," just because i can definitely give you a laundry list of things that i'm interested in—music, movies, writing, video games, etc—but all of these things can be boiled down to just "art"

do i really have a wide range of interests if the only thing i'm interested in is art? and like, philosophy

In the same vein, another problem is whether the test is suppose to measure your natural state or skills you built up over life

For example, I am naturally very unempathetic and that's how I answered the questions. But I've learned that it's easier to interact with people if you appear to be interested in their personal lives. In that way, I always ask people I work with how their day is and what's going on in their lives. So I guess in my actions I'm pretty good in kindness and empathy. But really, I feel like I'm a very cold person naturally

So I think the test needs to define its questions better but then again a test like this can't really encompass the wide range of human emotion

I guess it's a good idea in theory

Only the people who watch state TV need to pay for it but even then, not everyone with a TV will watch state TV and it sounds like a logistical nightmare to implement a license and inspection program instead of just paying for it through tax

Nevermind it's a dogshit idea in theory

How do they determine what's a TV or not
Wouldn't an inspector look at that and say that's a TV
Also TV inspector is an actual job?

You shouldn't be happy someone you don't like has Covid

But it's starting to look like Biden had the upper hand

For people who seem to be in some sort of dead-end. Are you okay? Need any help?

tbh I just want a small apartment to work at a gas station or something but people around me keep pushing me to be better and shit
Some people think everyone needs to be ultra productive and it’s exhausting; not everyone can be STEM. If you’re happy working a “low skill” job then more power to you.

Exactly
Colleges are full of unmotivated people who are only there because their parents told them to be. It's not only for the money but the status of being "educated". It's really valuable to people like my mom but it's not really for me

Already getting tired of hearing "the American people lost tonight". It's the American peoples' fault this moron is on the debate stage.
I like how you can't tell which one you're talking about

The Flood / Re: do you like the area you live in?
« on: September 29, 2020, 05:09:40 PM »
It's fine
It's a small town where nothing really happens
Everywhere is a 45 minute drive which I don't really mind but it's not really ideal for my mom

Ideally I'd want to live in the middle of nowhere with all the convenience of city life so I don't think I'd ever find anywhere perfect but I'd rather be in the city than rural areas

my mom tested positive
How are you guys dealing with it?

Is everyone still in the same house or is she quarantined somewhere else?
same house, only the kitchen has become a second living room

i spend most of my days sequestered off in my room anyway, so nothing changes for me, besides the N95s

So is your mom in the living room now?
Do you have to bring her food and stuff

>We live in a timeline where the only realistic choices for president are two deranged old men with dementia where one just spouts incorrect bullshit all day and the other sniffs children's hair while barely being able to form a coherent sentence.

Well the fresh blood in Congress is the AOC squad so maybe our government is just a black hole of misery and nastiness

Be nice if I could read the posts instead of blacklist posts but alright.
He'll come back in a couple months and beg for his account to be unbanned as is tradition. You'll be able to read all the hogwash he posts then.

I won't have access to a computer in two months unless I haul my rig to a tim hortons or some shit so I guess I'll have to wait eight months. Good thing my memory won't persist long enough for those posts to be relevant. Noice.

Will you be posting on your phone

My camper will be too cold to shitpost on either device(not that my phone could since it's a dino flip phone). Anything below zero and my phone's battery drains to zero within a couple minutes and it won't charge until warmed up. My time here is subject to the ass fuckery of father winter.

Damn that's rough
Get some thick ass blankets and stay warm
