It's six man teams
Wouldn't that be the whole population of the game, or did this game end up being more successful than the first?

Great game
Poor sales

We as a society have been pretty adamant on informing people of the dangers of smoking

And we can have that without sacrificing stories from games

So why is the gameplay so boring and uninteresting?

What the fuck are you rambling on about

The Uncharted series was amazing because of the gameplay paired with a deep story

The way you're making it sound, any game that tries to have a good story automatically sucks
Which is not the case at all with any of the games you mentioned

What is a "good" game to you if you're going to write off any story as pretension

NaughtyDog has been consistently producing quality games even if not for the story

I'm not writing off any story as overly pretentious, just generic action/adventure ones with nothing but cliches and drama. The Metal Gear series did story and gameplay fantastically before TPP, but that's because Konomi knew they were making a GAME first.

TLOU had great gameplay
The rarity of resources, the strength of enemies, and the emphasis on stealth built up tense gameplay

You're mistaking story for being completely separate from games
It seems that you think games are purely gameplay and story is an afterthought

Not true

Games are in a unique position to deliver great stories because you're interacting with it instead of just passively viewing it

This provides opportunity for that emotional impact we all love

You're going to blame them for fulfilling that potential?

>he thinks uncharted is deep

that's so cute

You're right
Thinking back on the trilogy it wasn't that deep philosophically or emotionally

I was thinking more of UC4 when I wrote that

It kills me to agree with Azumarill. It represents everything wrong with the gaming industry.

Action/adventure games try to hard so be more of an interactive movie than a legitimate video game. They do this all while pushing a AAA budget but down-scaling graphics (and mark my works, if anybody in a jacket and blazer tells you on stage that's "in game" he's flat out lying) making the gameplay boring because the developers focus in on the SSSSTTTTOOOORRRRYYYY. Making political movements, all the talks of "Omg guys, is Ellie going to be our first Lesbian protag?!" which have fuck all to do with video games. And the simple fact that just like the movie industry, all of these things just mentioned and more are a set of points to be GOTY-bait while being a title that will be forgotten about in several years. It's the same reason watching the Days Gone gameplay trailer was the most cringe-inducing thing this year from gaming.

Witcher 3 was garbage for this reason, the Uncharted series is garbage for this reason, Assassins Creed is garbage for this reason, and TLoU is falling for the same sham. Let me ask you, will anyone really care about the first TLoU game three years from now?

A true GOTY should be a game that can be replayed for years and years and never lose its fun or let alone interest from the player, because the developers focused on making a GAME first and built a story and visuals around that.

What's garbage about it
