The way I see it, you want to be male, so you changed your gender. Loaf wants to be female, so he took the aspects he likes about females and made it his own thing. Basically you changed because you want to fit a role, and he just put on a dress while still acknowledging that he's a male.

You changed because you were uncomfortable, he didn't because he's comfortable.
I'm not transgender, dipshit. Guys can wear girly clothes too.

If they’re cute

Start wearing guy clothes again

Personally I think
what you think doesn't matter when you're ignoring that there's more to it than gender stereotypes

Like what besides “hundreds of little subtle things”

Still don’t understand why gender is broken up into mental and physical aspects

It’s kind of a sexist idea in my opinion
nature is known to be vicious and cruel for the sake of results, of course there's sexism there too

as humans we should try to eliminate discrimination based on traits you don't choose as much as possible. But that doesn't mean men and women are the same

equal =/= identical

Personally I think gender should be a strictly physical label. Assigning personality traits and behavior to gender is such a backwards practice and only confuses people. In society, people should be male and female just like how people are short and tall without it anything about behavior.

There is nothing inherently wrong with being a feminine man or a masculine woman, but they are still male and female. There's more to it than just stereotypical gender roles and that's one of the key things that always goes over people's heads.

Biology doesn't care about sexism.

Biology doesn’t but society does

Physically we have male and female. That makes sense

But what does having a male or female brain mean? You’ve been very vague on actually defining what the difference is between a male and female mentally. Most of what you’ve been saying is based on your feelings and fixed by pursuing treatments that makes you feel “normal”

I don’t understand why you say that masculine females and feminine males exist yet you transitioned because you didn’t feel comfortable being masculine as a female

And if you say hormones, what’s wrong with being a female with high tes or vice versa. Seems like there’s more if you’re going to decide to label yourself a different gender than the one you were born as

It's not that simple really. I grew up being a pretty rough and tumble tomboy and I was relatively happy until I hit puberty and everything flipped on its head. I didn't understand why at the time but the hormonal spike during puberty made me distressed to the point where I turned suicidal because my body became alien and foreign, and all the changes that were happening felt wrong. As time went on it got worse and the depression got severe enough that I sought help, and I was diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder as it used to be called.

Hormone replacement therapy straightened me out.

What made you attribute this to gender
Kinda like Class said there's hundreds of little subtle things, I more or less summarized to simplify it as much as possible. On the surface I was already pretty stereotypical masculine though closeted about it, albeit poorly. A lot of it is stuff I really don't know how to explain other than "this is wrong, I don't know why everything feels wrong" and not being able to picture myself growing up to be a woman and wishing I could cease from existing completely because it was too much to handle on top of normal teenage angst. It was like I was constantly at odds with myself.

Growing up with conservative parents I had buried a lot of it down and it took several years to learn to not be ashamed of myself for it. After tearing those walls down and just allowing myself to think about what I wanted and needed, I realized a lot of things, but mostly that I could actually imagine myself growing old and being happy if I had been born male instead. That if I had grown up that way my body wouldn't feel alien and I wouldn't feel like I was robbed of the childhood I should've had. Going on hormones reinforced that because for the first time in my life I started feeling normal. It sounds stereotypical but it was like the clouds parted and two tons was taken off my back. Also keep in mind that once I had started hormones I had already been kicked out and was on my way to losing everything I previously cared about and becoming homeless on top of all that. Despite that I managed to get through it, when I was previously a complete mess who would've never been able to gather the mental fortitude to get through it.

People don't realize how much hormones influence your brain. A slight fuck up in the balance of everything and things go haywire.

Do you think preconceptions of male and female identity influenced your choice to transition?
