Corporal punishment =/= Beating
That being said
Corporal punishment is great
Beating instills fear
Corporal punishment instills fear of getting punished
You'll get shallow kids
In life, fear is necessary to establish structure
It's not overbearing fear though
It just establishes fear of wrong and inappropriate
Once that fear takes over their life and leaves no room for love, then it becomes a beating and crosses into the realm of abuse
But once the child grows up to be able to make his/her own decision, negative subconscious feelings towards wrongdoing and not do it
Or form their lives with discipline after alright having a basis for it
