Framerate of movies and games aren't the same.
Movies don't suffer from stuff like input latency and visual feedback like games do, both of which are tied directly to the framerate. But I'm saying it's possible for game developers to say, "Artistically, I think it would be better if this game ran at a low frame rate."
Not because it's "more cinematic"--whatever that even means. But for other reasons. I don't know.
Wanting to give an authentic '80s gaming experience. I don't fucking know.
I'm saying it's conceivable for 30fps to be better, so no amount of frames-per-second can be objectively "better" than another.
You don't know because they never ever say that. Unless you're Ubisoft who said 30fps = more cinematic and that they didn't make a female lead in Assassins Creed because the character models didn't allow it or some retarded shit.

I agree completely. The point that I'm making is that 60fps can't be objectively better than 30fps--I've painted a number of scenarios where 30fps would be preferable. You call it "pseudo-philosophy"--I call it making my point. If I'm not allowed to make my point, I don't know what else to do.
I wasn't calling it pseudo-philosophy on the FPS part at all. I was referring to your talk of more pixelated graphics and lower res stuff.

Uhm Gaming computers are cheaper than ever and you could buy one that ran the same as a PS4/Xbone and have it still be cheaper. The thousand dollar rigs you see are for idiots who probably want launch nukes and overclock their PC's.

Verb when I said FPS drops I meant things that are running at 30 dropping below it and making it choppy
and 60 fps games also dipping into the 40's as well.
Now you may not be a fan of the whole 60fps thing, but even you can agree that if frames aren't steady, be it 30 or 60, it can be extremely jarring. In fact one of the more interesting games I wanted to look at on PS3 I avoided because of reports it CONSTANTLY dipped to 20 and blow. That's just bad.

That one isn't opinion based. Games can easily look better when running at a higher power, there is no opinion about that. Whether it matters to YOU personally or not is a different story, but to say it doesn't look/perform better is just flat out a lie. Define "better", then. Console wars aside, the next generation of consoles were insanely outdated before they even came out, and they already reached the top graphical performance they could.
Where as the 360/PS3 easily evolved because of the technology packed into it. They didn't do the same for next gen because of the price it would cost them.
