Serious / Re: Trump No Longer Leads in Iowa

Not like it matters. The Republicans have yet to put a polarizing figure up. To win the race to be POTUS, you need to energize voters in swing states, and get the middle 20% to vote your way. So far no one has been able to. The problem is with the Republicans themselves. Too far to the Right and the 20% won't vote for you. Too close to the middle and the Republican Party won't endorse you.

It's arguable if the US is right or left of center. The main point is that it's in the center. You can't dictate from the far right or left. You have to be in the middle. As much as I like Bernie, he's still too far left. He may not be in a winning position either.

Sadly, I miss Bill. Politically he was ever so slightly left of center.

And he liked blowjobs. Never trust a man who wouldn't accept head.
You have interesting opinions, so I'll ask this.

Given how the Republican party has been more or less "hijacked" by the more right winged people, do you think their party is in danger of tearing apart? Or ending entirely? I wouldn't be surprised to see a new political party spawn from the far right because of that, or the moderate Republicans making their own.

I'd also like to add that as I was typing that rant, I was in the middle of the video. Or at least the few posts before it.

Despite the feminist stuff annoying me, I have to say that she did offer some insight on the actual gameplay and flaws that still plague the series. Color me surprised she actually cast that in a positive light and made me see that the relationship between brother and sister seemed a little shallow, which is a shame.

Still, the game looks interesting to say the least. Can't wait to Black Flag it.

Not everyone cares if a game is fun to play, believe it or not.
Yeah, if they're not actually the gamers playing it. Something tells me Anita is one of those who just goes into it from a social standpoint and that's it. She's ignoring the entire other 3/4th's half of the pie.

If a game had amazing gameplay but didn't match up to her mindset of "social justice" then odds are she'd bash it. When reviewing things, you need to hold it to the standard you would other games (Looking at you TPP reviewers.... 10/10 my butt) and the medium/genre it is in.

No, have at it, if you want to. If you have to go on a rant to make a point, go ahead. I actually kinda like it, because it means that this discussion can actually go somewhere, I think. You're clearly impassioned about the subject, and you have a lot to say about it, so say all you need to.
<3

Didn't quote your other stuff because there isn't much to argue about it I would say. You bring up a good point in that the writers probably don't know how, but idk. I feel like when they focus on it too much, they try to make their sexuality the defining point about them, which is going against the entire reasoning to include them I think.

Then again, for some reason in today's polarizing society, people are saying that you shouldn't have to label anything, but at the same time, the very same people saying this are the ones who are trying to hard to put a sticker on every sexual meaning they feel within them, or those around them.

It's freaking weird, and I am so jaded on that issue. Only reason I bring up Tumblr is, because while I try to avoid that stuff with every fiber of my being, I have some friends who just happen to bring it into my life. Whether they mean to or not.

Stop with these 'Trigger warnings' everytime you make a thread including Sarkeesian. It creates an unnecessary stigma and almost seems like a meme (considering what counts as one on this website) to me.

Spoiler
I have nothing to say about the video since I haven't watched it. Maybe tomorrow you'll get a post about the actual topic.
People get pissy regardless whenever I support feminism, so I'm mocking them by putting a mock trigger warning. That's the only reason I do it, and I will continue to do it.
It always made me cringe since 99% of Tumblrites use "trigger" in the wrong way like everyone here uses cuck.

Dark Souls 3 Impressions - And How It Compares To Bloodborne

You guys might like this. Very informative.

Im probably the only one but the music never stood out to me in Dark Souls. I was too goddamn focused on the game to notice it .-.

Majulas theme is the only one i can remember
I only like the second games DLC music so...
How do you not like Dark Souls 1 music?
How do you not like pain?

How you cannot like things like Gwyn's theme, Biggie Smalls, Sif, and others is shocking if you like DS2 music. At least the DLC music.
Oh look, opinions

Games
oh dear

Or maybe I'm doing this so you'd reply, because I know this hate boner on the second game
Stop it. You have it out for me :(

But I like the 2nd game too <3

It's all about social discussions rather than the game itself.

I just ran into the trans part and remembered Ubisoft's horrible pandering and making trans/gay characters for the sake of being trans/gay for a statement. Another reason I hate Ubisoft and other game devs pandering.
Pandering is bad, sure. But we wouldn't play games, ever, if they didn't pander to our interests. They're basically all about pandering--so it's just a matter of how subtle you do it.

It's conceivable that a trans character could be introduced into a game without it being blatantly pandering. ie. them mentioning it all the time in every line of dialogue, or having it not be their sole defining characteristic.
No no, you're trying to justify it by saying that, but no. There is a difference between writing an interesting story/cast of characters and not pandering.

Pandering: gratify or indulge (an immoral or distasteful desire, need, or habit or a person with such a desire, etc.).

Aka: Make the tumblr idiots feel happy they have a trans person in the game! It's the SAME THING Mass Effect 3 did with Cortez, who was gay simply for the sake of being gay. Those things DEFINE their characters ironically enough (even though labels shouldn't be a thing in a world where people are ever increasingly wanting to be labeled) rather than the actual content of their character. You knew this was going to be the case too when Ubisoft literally announced there was a trans women in it.

Fallout New Vegas put TWO gay people in it. One gay, one lesbian. Did they ever mention ANYTHING about it? Nope. Did those two things define said characters? Absolutely not. In fact unless you actually talked to them about their past/history, it wouldn't even come up. Why? Because it's not what defines them as a character, nor should a sexuality EVER define you for a character. It's a passing thing they VAGUELY mention as they go on about how they ended up where they are, or how they shouldn't be dying.

When people think of Veronica or Gannon, they don't think "Oh it's the lesbian girl/gay guy". Nope, instead you're usually thrown a reply with one who is incredibly smart and an Enclave supporter, and the other who is a funny Brotherhood of Steel chick who throws witty remarks at everything and punches things.

It's that kind of handling that should be how it is, not announcing to the world "HEY WE HAVE GAYS AND TRANS HERE!" Buy hey, Ubisoft are known for simply pandering. Mass Effect 3 with the gay guy simply there to be gay, and the same in in Inquisition with a storyline LITERALLY ABOUT A SON AND FATHER BITCHING OVER HIS SEXUALITY in a world that is threatening to come apart at any instant, so you need to build a fucking army and literally save the entire realm. But nope, I'd rather stay here and listen to Steve cry to his Christian daddy about never being open enough as a child.

It's sick, terrible, annoying, and anyone who supports that kind of inclusion is missing the entire point of progressing into the world today as we know it.

/rant

I promise that will be the last time you see a reply like that in this thread

"There are many valid concerns around portrayals of violence against women in games because too often such scenarios trivialize the real-world epidemic of gendered abuse."

Because I suppose men are exempt from such abuses? Right.

I need to stop picking apart what she says, because everything this woman says upsets me with nothing but double standards and actually gives feminists a bad name. Feminism is now a days synonymous with tumblr esc types of mindsets.

There was literally no reason for people to complain about Unity not having a female playable character.
The reason people made a fuss was because of the made up on the spot excuse Ubisoft used, which was only used to try and not to piss off Internet "feminists" who complain about everything that isn't empowering to women.
Most feminists in gaming aren't looking for "empowerment", though. Just subjectification.
Not really. I wish that was the case but apparently no inclusion = sexist.

Already I dislike it.

And no I'm not GOING to ever like her because she wallows in her own cesspit of unchecked facts and loves to drown out any opinions that may or may not ever so slightly disagree with her view on things. Much like forums around the internet.

This bitch never says anything good about games ever. It's always so easy to stay on the sidelines and dislike and pick apart something without being checked yourself. It's ever so telling when she has likes and dislikes removed. Comments I can accept, but THAT? Yeah. She's not the voice of all women, and I hate that she has a title that is even REMOTELY close to such a thing.

This isn't a game review, so much as a social one anyway. If you want a review for a game instead of circle jerking over your privileges, watch other reviews.

Like everyone said

more barbaric, less advanced, etc etc

People's lives back in the early days were MUCH harder too, so having that greater power/faith and thinking life would be better when you died, probably carried a lot of them forward. Especially during the Dark Ages.

My mistake.

I too wish to go to Sovngarde.

You forget the DLC/updated ending which was

Get the Crowns of the Fallen Kings and lose the undead curse
Walk into the darkness and refuse to rekindle the flame and repeat the cycle
Break the cycle that's plagued the world forever

The DS3 premier trailer shows the crown and it implies it breaks.
I'm fairly sure that the purpose of the Crowns was so that someone might escape from the fate of perpetual rebirth and decay, rather than destroying the Cycle. The theme of the games is that the world is fucked no matter what you do, it's just that through some sometimes menial actions or varied soul destroying labor, you can either speed up or stave it off inevitability as long as possible. Crowns are tools allowing one to step outside of that box, except with the chains of undeath keeping you tied close enough that true freedom isn't feasible.

All in hopes of one day breaking it, because it's a fantastic first step.
That's an interesting outlook on it. I always thought he was gonna find a way to break it, because when then Emerald Herald says something like that, he grips his fists angrily or determinedly, and sets off into the dark.

Plus, Dark Souls 3 might not (hopefully) be repeating it.
