I honestly liked The Force Unleashed 1 and the story it provided. Sure your character was super OP, but it felt like a better bridge between 3 and 4 than the Clone Wars series did.

For example, you see things like Crysis 2 and 3 run at max settings on PC (those are basically just benchmark games anyway), and those are from 2011 and 2013 respectively. PS4/Xbone games are just ahead of Crysis 2, and obviously nowhere near close to Crysis 3's looks. The only game I'd argue would even be in the same mention to C3, is the Killzone Shadowfall exclusive game (cross platform would be worse looking), and that's being generous.
You could use Battlefield 4 as another comparison I guess

Such a thing has never happened in the history of console gaming.
You need to keep in mind that no other consoles have used a couple years old PC parts with a few tweaks here and there to better optimize it (I don't think... Not 100% on this). Thus, we can form some solid basis for our speculation. It becomes more factual at that point.

How? Even when the last-gen consoles released, we had PC games going beyond those consoles' presumed boundaries. That didn't mean 360 or PS3 game performance had reached their apex before they even left the gate. It wasn't the first time that that happened, and it won't be the last.
I edited my post to say about 4 or 5 years ago. I'm not arguing the games won't look better on next gen. They'll be better optimized and improved in some areas (at the sacrifice of others.), but it won't have the same leap that 360/PS3 did, and that was because it didn't use off the shelf, a few years old PC parts. For example, there will be very few games that will look better than The Witcher 3 for next gen consoles. 2 or 3 years from now, it will still be roughly the same. I can understand why too, considering if they tried the same thing then as they did now, the cost for making them would be way too high and we'd get consoles ticking around $600 again I think. That, and consoles just aren't for gaming anymore.

You have zero evidence to support your laughable beliefs that we've somehow reached the apex of console hardware before most devs have even had a go at it yet.
Any PC (exclusive?) game from about 4 or 5 years ago if I can guesstimate.

8th gen uses off the shelf hardware. Fact This is irrelevant.
That's actually the entire basis of the argument he is presenting to you, sooo... All the other arguing aside, the beginning point was the current gen consoles use old and outdated hardware (see post below for age), and thus, we will never see the games evolve like they did from 2005 to 2014 on 360/PS3. You two can also try to argue without it devolving into a stupid shitfes with petty insults, as that would make both your stances seem like a bunch of babble. Keep it civil.

Is this good or bad?
Good for the US since they support the Kurds, and they have done so for a long ass time. Bad for NATO as a whole since Turkey bombs them. But no one in NATO likes that Turkey bombs them.

It's not going to look any better for PS4/Xbone games. He does know that because there is such a thing as looking at the hardware in a console.

also, fuck 60fps
don't do that
i know you're pent up but please leave the frames out of your lustful fantasies
i'm just saying
it's inconceivable to me how someone would value 60fps over having some form of local multiplayer
In a game like Halo, which became famous from friends playing splitscreen for Halo 1/2, I can definitely agree

That's what I meant. Eight-gen concoles are hilariously underpowered.
My guess is because they can't afford selling another console at $500/$600 like they did last gen.
I believe the Xbone was making money back pretty much right off the bat
And the PS4 is selling faster than what the PS2 did this far into it's release
I think game developers for this gen need to try not prioritising graphics so much, because of how cheap and underpowered the consoles are
I think they need to stop pushing for 1080 and 60. Either one or the other, preferably a stable 60fps framerate.
It's 2015 though. The very fact that these consoles can't support either is laughable.

Also... Isn't Halo 5 only 60 fps in a small bubble around you?
Yeah
Enemy animations at distance are 30
Sounds like Dark Souls 2.
It's kinda pathetic that the XB1's first 'proper' exclusive can barely maintain 60fps. The resolution alters when things get hectic to keep a consistent frame rate.
It's not pathetic at all when you realize the hardware was out of date since before it even came out. On both platforms. The 360 and PS3's potential was far more powerful and greater, and actually ahead on the market (even with PC's) in many cases. Not the fact with Xbone and PS4. I assume due to how much it costs building it, inflation, etc. Last gen didn't hit its limit until just shy of a decade later. Current gen hit it before it even hit the markets.

STREAMLINING
I don't think you know what that word means
I do, though.
It doesn't apply for having or removing split screen. It is more tied to in game mechanics.

I think it is
who plays split screen in 2015?
Enough people for MS to decide adding support for 8 controllers on a single XB1 was a good move?
8 player splitsceen when, then? I don't follow xbone news because I don't have one, nor will I ever get one unless I got it for free.

This is a thread about Halo 5 RNG, not MGSV.
Literally nobody besides you mentioned MGSV
Well that joke went over your head.
He's already a demon.

And it's not 2004

Tried to find an example of a game I didn't like in my steam library, but alas. I only have games that I actually do like.
Spare Total War: SHOGUN 2 Total War games just aren't my thing.
Of all the Total War games to like, you pick the one with the least diverse unit and factions.
Couldn't get into it whether it was just the units or whatever. Combat didn't have me enthused and I couldn't care less about the historical context.
I prefer rts games like Age of Empires and C&C.
Booo Historical context is best. If you don't get pleasure killing Gauls as the Romans, you're doing it wrong. You try Dawn of War games then?

I also got quickly bored with it. Well, 82 hours in and I didn't do everything, but still. That's why I'm playing other things, and trying Wasteland 2. Considering the creator of Fallout and some Fallout writers did it, and the Directors Cut is out, it's more than worth playing now.
That and The Witcher 3, which 4 hours in already has better writing than all of Fallout 4.
