"Good anime"?

what a strange concept
I have a feeling someone like you would enjoy something more laid back and... what's the word... calmly paced? But not boring either. The dialogue is what makes the anime, not the action. A lot of negative stigma anime gets is from the over the top voice acting and action. This is quite the opposite.

I think you'd enjoy Spice and Wolf, which is something I recommend to the OP.
>recommending me anime

you know what, i like your cheek

if it's available on netflix i'll watch the pilot and see what happens
otherwise i'm gonna need to know where to stream

and if it has a dub
I was actually going to recommend the dub. It's arguably one of the best dubbed animes around and so far I love the voices for the two leads. The woman voices Moxxi from Borderlands.

Edit: Also, pilots are always slow. Give it 3 episodes please sop you see the characters in full force. And I'll find you a stream if it's not on Netflix. Just PM me or something if that's so.

I have, but I like to actually talk too without insulting and shit posting. I think this whole dog dying thing has made me way more mellowed out here. Maybe for the better.
Oh, shit. Sorry to hear that.
Thanks. I posted it in another thread but I'll just repaste here for you

I had to take him to the vet today and he basically had a large growth in his throat and only has about a year or 2 at most left. I've had him for 11 years and carried him home when he was just a puppy. I love him to death.

I'm not balling my eyes out, but it's just a very deflating thing for me.

he will never drop the midg persona. its pointless to argue with him because he doesnt listen to logic and makes inane, almost completely irrelevant points to back up whatever retarded opinion he's defending. ive had people swear up and down that he isnt really like this, but i find that very difficult to believe. he's been like this ever since i joined sep7 over a year ago. its best to mute him and ignore him because he is quite literally a worthless user.
Oh okay. Well, I won't mute him since that seems rude, simply because he has some silly opinions on video games. I don't really like just shutting people completely out. But I guess I saved a headache with Fallout arguing since I always talk about how bad it is, which is something I should stop doing.

But people keep bringing it up to me, so...

I'm talking about the single player. Why bring up CoD? The single player for CoD has been shit since after the first Modern Warfare game and super short each time with little content. Fallout is vast and has a lot to do
Well yeah, Fallout is ONLY single player. I was comparing CoD because you said it sucks people in the world, and Call of Duty does the same thing with MP. All I'm saying is if you think it's a 9/10, you should provide some reasons why you think so other than "I like it", you know?

Isometric gameplay is boring, that's why
A lot of old school peeps would disagree. Pillars of Eternity got nothing but rave reviews (funnily enough, that was from Obsidian too. Their first like... unrushed game in forever) and it was Isometric.

oh yeah, i forgot about new vegas

i've heard nothing but praise for that one
Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam

My friend said "NV better than 4? Pfft" and I REAAAAALLY wanted to say "you've never even played the game, so don't go acting all Bethesda fanboy on me", because the guy was basically obsessed with Fallout 3 and never played NV.

But it was just a conversation I didn't want to get into so I settled with "I have plenty of valid reasons to support my opinion" and he left it at that. I think I'm growing more intolerant for blind fanboyism.

6/10 LOL you're fucking crazy. It's easily a 9/10 and the amount of people sucked into the game prove you wrong
People sink hours into it because it's deliberately spread out to make you play longer. If we're going by that logic, games like Call of Duty are 9/10's too.

How is that? The game is FILLED with content, which is the exact opposite of Cock of Duty
I'm just going on what you said and how it sucks people in games. You'll have to provide more clarity than that.

Yeah what's the point of the like and dislike? I constantly made Cait dislike some things for me, but she still opened up to me. There is a mod where it says things like

"Cait disliked that but zero fucks were given"
hiding companion quests/character development behind aggregate points rather than specific triggers. fucking bethesda.
I don't mind that decision. I just don't understand what the point of it is since they never seem to leave if you hit a certain dislike, and will actually open UP to you when you keep getting dislikes.

I honestly do think Fallout 4 is Bethesda's best work since Morrowind/Oblivion, in a lot of ways

It's just... The RPG aspect of the game was a HUGE part, and I'm super sad that it's just not there in the way we've seen in past Fallout games, I think they focused too hard on some parts, and forgot about others.
I honestly don't know why they thought it was a good idea to get rid of the Karma system, when there was no viable replacement in the slightest. And they don't even have a reputation system either.

What's funny is that I dont understand how people find F4 unforgettable. The writing isn't even bad, just people were expecting some ridiculous stuff. Its like ES, the good writing is in the lore/writings you find. I mean I guess the Vault purposes were really easy to find out, but there also a lot of stuff that you have to search for, such as the additional purpose for 111 (beyond Cryogenics)
I didn't have a problem with a lot of the writing actually. It certainly was a step up from Fallout 3 and Skyrim. My main complaints come with some gameplay choices, lack of choices, fetch quests, and the lack of dialogue options. That and just the world exploring is pretty much useless because there is no point going at the end of dungeons in this game since Legendary Monsters now drop the loot. So when you lockpick that master chest at the end of whatever building, odds are you're finding some Pipe Rifle.

Again.
pulse mine
shotgun shells x23
.38 ammo x 5
silver spoon
toy alien
hardened glow sighted mighty automatic pipe pistol
The Legendary Enemy thing is a compelling idea, but it gave it a more Borderlands feel than anything (along with ruining the point of dungeon crawling, which is one of the most fundamental things to an RPG since ever), and that's not Fallout. It doesn't help that by the time you're level 15, any armor and weapon mods you find are pretty much useless because what you have on is better, and the weapon you have will do more damage.

No one cares if your sniper has a base power of 80 and does +50 radiation damage, when your other sniper rifle is ticking in the 100's for damage.

Oh load times too. God the load times were absolutely awful in this game, especially in elevators. I expected them to go with the Mass Effect ideas with dialogue sure (and that's somehow even worse too), but not elevator load times. I remember when Todd Howard-senpai even said there wouldn't be any loading times at all.

I feel like Vault 95 would be better if Bethesda didn't make it painfully obvious what happened there.

They're not very good at subtle story telling.

It does have frequent updates. The only problem is they're all the same now and people are getting tired of it. And people aren't buying Sqeenix's reason of "We have a small team" anymore.

That's why more people are leaving and staying gone. I feel after they struck gold with ARR, they've gotten too content with how things are going, and are just coasting.
No reason not to change a lot if things get bad. I haven't been playing it lately, or any PC gaming really. But I'll continue to play until I'm bored or the servers are shut down. To each their own I guess. Not that I don't agree with you. Patch 3.1 is nearly exactly like Patch 2.1, except with different areas and stuff. So every patch it will be new raid, new dungeon, new thing. New big raid, new dungeon, etc...
Yeah it's just the same thing. For people who frequent it, it's just the same crap and it gets tiring. Sure it's new content, but it's the same feeling each time.

]I tend to think definitions themselves have little value and should be avoided in an argument if it can be helped. They are malleable. There is no central authority on what exactly is the proper meaning of any word. Valuable in some contexts, but I think one should balance consensus and popular usage with contextual understanding. Dangerous things, really, unless both parties can come to an agreement on what a word's definition is.

I'm a voluntarist, which necessarily entails an anarchist position. I don't honestly know if an anarchist society would be "better" by any given metric than our current situation. I am adamant, however, that all uses of aggressive force and coercion are illegitimate. You do not have the right to force something on another human being any more than they have the right to force their will on you.
I come to this stance because I take an objective position on morality, but I am not a utilitarian like most objective moralists here. I don't believe the end justifies the means at all. The means are a part of the end.

Most people here being utilitarians, I tend not to agree with anybody most of the time. We might agree on small things and some solutions to minor problems, but my worldview is generally incompatible with those of most other people. I generally don't concede on questions of right and wrong because I tend not to agree with anyone else's definition of right and wrong in the first place. It can be frustrating, but I like this board enough to stay.
I understand. Thanks for clarifying. And you're right in definition I suppose. It's too cut and dry.

Hey Scott, sorry but I'll have to cut the discussion short. I know we stand at two different ideological sides to this, so I doubt we'd ever really agree on the key issues. I'm too tired and want to do other things tonight to try and get my mind of off things. Still, you presented your points (aside from the FBI thing I feel) clearly and it's refreshing to not see a bunch of insults.

So sorry again. Maybe some other time.

Edit: Also, that poll thing was horrible wording. I edited it somewhat but it's hard to convey what I meant.
