I re-watched Episode I with the "Jar Jar is a Sith" theory in mind and it put a different spin on the film (and the character is less annoying if you assume he's pretending to be retarded).
It still bugs me. Seeing him constantly fuck up on the battlefield was just annoying.

So I've been going on a binge with the movies again since I'm watching episode 7 again tomorrow (in 3D this time), and I changed a few positions on it so far. Decided to go in the order 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6, since 3 and 6 easily play into each other with Vader and the Emperor.

Anyway, my thoughts are 4 isn't as great as I once thought. A tad boring (along with audio inconsistencies due to mic placement I guess. Idk if it's nit picking, but it's grating to hear a somewhat muffled voice, only for a voice right next to your ear) . Episode 5 easily has the best writing in the original, what with the humor and plot of it all. Seems episode 7 took the humor inspiration from that.

Episode 1 is fucking awful. I said 2 was the one I thought was worst? I lied. 1 was a chore to watch. Jar Jar's antics got tiring within 30 minutes, and NOTHING FREAKING HAPPENED in between them landing on Tatooine, and the pod races, and then the long haul to the Darth Maul duel. It was terrible, and 10 year old Ani's acting was awful. What I'm getting at, is that the pacing for 1 was terrible. Long periods of nothing happening, only for a few set piece moments.

Episode 2, minus the romance (I literally only liked one line of it and that was in the end when Padme was saying a part of her was dying little by little each day since they met again. Everything else can fuck off) was ACTUALLY NOT THAT BAD. A lot of the hints to Anakin turning to Vader are great, with him saying dictatorship might not be so bad, along with the Death March theme subtly playing and remixing twice into the movie.

And then the whole entire Clone segment. The CGI isn't the best in today's standards obviously, but man I forgot just how bad ass that entire freaking thing was. It was so glorious to watch and I'm easily going to have to watch the Clone Wars now because of it.

Watching 3 and 6 later tonight. Just thought I'd give thoughts on my change of position.

Iraq had a shot at self-sufficiency and they let ISIS form right under their noses.
Militarily maybe, but that government that was in just made it worse and alienated so many people.

That'd be a really cool fight actually. I want to see Azula before she completely goes batshit crazy though.

that makes me feel slightly better

but I'd say 4 > 8 > 7
If we were counting MMO's, I'd throw 14 in there but for sp yeah. I enjoyed 6 for actually having interesting characters and doing something different that wasn't completely bad like say... 13.

Anyway, bed

I would agree with you there. Any country that has people this dumb isn't going to last long. The masses are literally completely unaware that the government is owned by corporations, adds fluoride to tap water, fearmongers constantly, and profits from treating diseases, not curing them. Tack onto that the heinous shit that people know about, but just don't care, and there's no intellectual drive to push the country forward. People, but Americans in general, are just so shortsighted.
Adding floruide to the water isn't bad if it's in tiny doses. It's good for your teeth.

It doesn't matter that the state of the US is shitty, the results of this poll are still disgusting.
You know on this note, I hear all the older generation saying "America will be better again. Our best days our yet to come." Even my parents believe that.

I honestly doubt it. Powers rise and fall, and it's no different with the US. Our economy, schools, infrastructure, debt, and government are so out of whack that I don't see us coming back on the top stage. And given the rise of other countries being strong once more and one dominant force not really being a thing anymore, yeah.

I think anyone who thinks we'll be as top dog/great as we used to be where the middle class is super strong again and we're number 1 in schools, is down right delusional.

Call me a pessimist

We're having family and I'm instilling a new tradition of making homemade pizza on Christmas day since one of my friends said their family does it.

It sounded good and fun. My nephew and niece would love it.
why pizza

why not pizza?
ytho
Why not? Homemade pizza is good. Christmas Eve should have some kinda special dinner if you ask me. And no don't say Ham, we always do that.

How about the fact that he's an authoritarian despot?
Bah

Russia needs another Czar tbh

He'll make Russia great again. Trust him.

Just like Germany needs another Reich. Authoritarianism is just so fucking great!
Yes

Only the joke is Angel Merkel isn't nearly as bad as Putin in the slightest.

When it comes to the merits of a politician like Angela Merkel I usually like to let history be the judge as I don't have the facts to form a decent opinion on the matter.
Yesh

but yeah, Putin is pretty damn bad. That whole 85%ish approval rating is a lie thing since there is no freedom of the press.
You can assume that pretty much any number put forward by the press will be a lie. Even when there is "freedom of the press", journos are not to be trusted.
That's true, but you can look across various news sites in countries like ours and gather a sort of common theme going for them. In Russia, not so much.

It sure is hilarious trying to see Verbatim become a mod.

7379
why does every mod discussion devolve into an argument about whether verb should or shouldn't be a mod?
Because of the apparent 'nice Verbatim' that only shows up around staff changes that folks (including staff) still fall for.
But he's been pretty nice for the most part since I joined even before I was a mod.
ehh, wouldn't go that far back

we got in a couple of spats before, if you remember
I don't think a couple of arguments = a consistently bad person

I've been a dick to a few people as well.

Verb is very mean to unborn children and their feelings.
