It actually is kind of bad because all those people around you and being put in the public eye is really pressuring you to say yes. Saying no is indeed embarrassing to both parties and sorry, it's not like the movies. Not every proposal has to be some elaborate thing, especially in front of random ass strangers in THAT big an audience. I sure as hell would have smacked that dude a lot harder in the stadium than that woman did. Though it was still great to see him collapse.

Fallout 3 had shades of this, which I neglected to mention in my review.
While the dialogue options were clear and told you exactly what you were going to say, there was no way to tell how the NPC was going to respond. You might have actually chosen the "rude" option when you thought it seemed more polite in your head.
It's worse in Fallout 4. Literally a character thing that says SARCASTIC and you don't know if you're gonna make a funny joke or be a dick.
It's the most inconsistent thing ever
I've completely avoided the sarcastic option because of it
Since I'm doing a Nora playthrough and can see everything you say, I'm using it more. She always struck me as a witty person.
