In a lot of in depth open world games, all the shit around you CAN be daunting, because you don't know exactly where to start, or how much accomplishment you're getting from it in the grand scheme of things.
Yeah, I know that feeling entirely. I zoomed out in TW3 map and saw all those question marks and said to myself "this is gonna be a grind isn't it?"

It's because of voice acting.
But a full line option and voices didn't have to be mutually exclusive.

Honestly, I only enjoyed Nazi Zombies the most in World at War before everything got so damn complicated. That's the weird thing I think with these kind of things. They start off simple and people think they need to add so many mechanics to make it feel new, but I feel that ruined a lot of the game.
Kind of like TF2 and all the crap it added. Sometimes base game is lovely. Look at Killing Floor.

I feel like that's why most of these guys did it. They weren't certain of a "yes" so they tried to make it happen.
College humor did a reverse of this where they set up one of the guys when at a baseball game to make it seem like he was asking his girlfriend to marry him (it was on the jumbotron), and she looked at him and said yes. And he was stunned and had to tell her it was a prank, and she ended up slapping him and running away. Needless to say, they didn't stay together long after.

It's incredibly foolish to be embarrassed by your feelings, even if they are negative ones.
I'm not embarrassed by my feelings in the slightest. Kissing, holding hands in public, whatever. That's not something I see as embarrassing. However when someone sets up some large event in front of thousands of people and does that, and everyone is smiling around you, with the shouts "SAY YES!!!" more than often around. Have you never heard of peer pressure, or people deciding to go along with what the masses think in some area? It is an insane pressure being thrown into the spotlight and you are pressured to say yes. Saying no leaves the guy embarrassed and the girl pissed off and sad. Did you really not hear the girl in the last one whispering "honey can we do this later?" and he goes "no now" (or something), and then she says no.
