We ought to care if we get a shitty campaign though. Irish was an insufferable piece of shit and I was glad to send him to his death, even if it was ten missions too late
Playing BF for the campaign or caring about it makes as much sense as watching a porn movie for the story. BF started out as a MP only game and it will always be that way even with the shoehorned campaign. Really, why focus on the weakest part of the game which doesn't attract new players or keeps them playing? If anything it's just there as an entertaining training ground for the MP.
I know BF started as MP only and I do think it should stay MP only, but we all know that since BF has started ripping shit out of the CoD playbook, they've been including shitty campaigns for their last few games. To expect any different for BF5 is delusional, so rather than hoping against hope, I'd rather them try to at least make a decent one than another fucking joke. We know it's going to happen. I hate that it'll happen, but DICE and the BF games have steadily been going downhill.
Expect a campaign. They better not have a rehash of Irish in it, either. Fuck Irish.
That still brings up the same thing though. Who cares about the CoD campaign? Black Ops 3 has proven 1 and 2's story was decent but they didn't know how to continue, and Modern Warfare got all wonky with the plot holes in MW2. MP is where those two games have the main selling point. And as someone who always played campaign first for CoD, it's a somewhat saddish truth.
