The irony was before those protests, Trump was going on about restricting the press from writing bad things and suing them, thus impacting free speech. Yet when this happens he acts like he's a champion of it. Let's not forget the whole thing was calculated and planned. No Republican, especially in Trumps standards, goes to the middle of Chicago and hopes for something peaceful given the demographic.
