What the fuck. This is going to affect our lives every day. All across the world.
Not really that would be more so your local level of government in whichever state you live in

Also, how is any of that speculation? He literally said he wants to do these things.
It's funny how when I tell you what he wants to do, you get nervous and play it off as speculation.
Take a chill pill. Already his most insane stuff is off his list because everyone knows it wont happen. His ban all Muslim thing is off his list, and the "lock her up" crap is already being squashed by even the people who wanted to lock her up most (Christie, Gulianai). Republicans had complete control before when Bush was around, and everything didn't go to complete shit. And before you mention the housing crash, yes that was horrible, but that wasn't Bush's fault. In fact right before he left office, he signed something to help stabilize the economy again. All I'm saying is take a deep breath. It's not the end of the world, and this shit won't dominate our headline and lives every day now. That's why I said we can get on with our lives, because the media loves to play up the division storm, and loves to hype up these candidates, and loves to help play into the two party system and only cover a third party candidate extensively when he makes a flub. It's done with, it's over. Let's move on. Do what Bernie said he wants to do. Support him when it comes to helping the economy, and helping the middle class, and cry out in protest when even the smallest of human rights is so much as thought to be violated. I should also note that you need to be worried more about Mcconnell and his supporters, than you do Trump. Keep an eye out for that civil war. This guy doesn't so much as want to fix infrastructure, or change the status quo.

If Hillary won the Right wouldn't have reacted in such a childish, emotional, violent way.
I think that's a very baseless and unfounded statement indicating a good amount of bias.
It's also a very redundant thing to say, considering we won.
I'm pretty sure both sides would have bitched at whoever won, simply because of the divisions.

Guliani and Christie are backing off their claims to lock Clinton up. Is this surprising anyone? Rally the base, and once you get power?
Ehhhh okay let's actually try to do stuff. Anyone who expects otherwise is dumb. I think her losing and seeing her party burn is punishment enough.

We're arguably more divided than ever before in history. I don't think unification is going to happen any time soon.
Yep, and it's because politics dominate our lives and the media certainly doesn't help it.

pretty much I get a lot of flak for trying to be understanding of both sides too
It's best to not let the masses make you conform. Come to your own conclusions, and always remember that just because someone disagrees with you, it doesn't mean they're a piece of shit.
My mother was saying all Trump supporters were racists and it was really REALLY annoying.
Well I mean, in a lot of cases it's all about perspective. Once you put yourself into the shoes of a disgruntled middle class family, it makes perfect sense. Same with the south. The middle class is being suffocated, and I've understood why Trump supporters would do this for a while now. Do I agree with them? No. But I can agree that the establishment brought this on themselves.
Only problem is that a lot of people, people like me and my friends, are going to get caught in the blast. We're the undesirables anyway, so our loss is mostly irrelevant to them.
His campaign was never one of unification, but I'm hoping things come together and don't further divide, though regardless of who won, it was going to get worse with minorities vs whites.

Popular vote only works when people are evenly distributed, as LC said.
I never said this.
Did I confuse you with someone else? Because if I did, that's embarrassing and I sincerely apologize.

If the blame thing is true, what a conceited bitch. Like, did it ever occur to her she never got out of her own way? It's never her fault. Blaming the president who busted his ASS to help you, when you didn't even campaign as hard as he did in 2012? Sit the fuck down.

I'm still going to lose my fucking health insurance as well as my federal rights. It's not just about policy either, it's social climate too. People have become so amazingly toxic to anyone they disagree with. Thank fuck I pass without getting clocked as a tranny. But I really have to make sure I get all my legal documents completely updated just in case it's going to become harder. Because that's pretty likely.
Economically I'm on the lower class and I'm still pretty trapped there. None of the implications are good. Will this help the middle class? Maybe. Maybe not. But I don't have the luxury of a safety net just not worrying about it. I don't have family to fall back on. Fuck, if my military roommate gets called back to active duty I'm out of a place to live again.
It was going to be fucked either way, but one fall was going to be slightly less painful than he other.
Both sides are just as toxic as the other, and I'm honestly annoyed at it. I lean left, but even I can admit the people on my side are just as fucking annoying as those on the right. Either you're 100% something because if you're not, you're a degenerate and how dare you oppose my views reeeeeeeee blah blah blah. I hate it. Politics dominate the lives of our generation thanks to media and it's fucking annoying. I'm happy because this won't be the headline anymore. We can actually get back to focusing on our lives, and the people we care about. Take a bit of Stephen Colbert's advice.

He was democratically elected ffs. I didn't vote for the guy either, but the American people did

We have s system that pretty explicitly does not actually represent the majority decision..but clearly the one who is retarded is the guy pointing it out
Electoral college is there so people in smaller states/cities get as much a say as other states. Otherwise only the densely populated cities (NY, LA, Dallas, etc) would dictate how it goes. Popular vote only works when people are evenly distributed, as LC said. Now let's talk about how it's shit in another thread, kay kay?

So chin up. The sun will still rise, and your sports team will still always suck.
Joke's on you. Cubs won the World Series. Complete meltdown of the sun confirmed.
Haha True

I have trans friends too. Of course they're not happy, but you're acting like Republicans have never taken control again. Funnily enough, Trump already took off banning Muslims from the nation, because he obviously didn't mean it. Really, you need to calm down and let the dust settle, because odds are it won't be as fucked up as people think.
Besides, Hillary may have made the minorities feel good, but her shit carried from Bill Clinton would only fuck the middle class up more.
Edit: I should also note if she's on a Visa, she's fine. It's the ones who crossed illegally he's harking on, and even then I highly doubt anything will come of it.

Nice video. Hillary was a lot of the same from Bill who fucked over the middle class.

I get to lose my healthcare and federal rights but hey haha let's just laugh about it
I never said that
the video didn't make me feel better in the slightest now I have to fight just to keep what I have now, same with my other minority friends
It's not like every minority is suddenly fucked over, and race relations were going to get worse regardless of which president won.

I don't quite agree with the environmental stuff, but the majority of his plan seems pretty solid and I can strongly agree with a lot of his propositions. I'm interested to see how this will pan out now that the Republicans have complete control. Maybe for the first time in my entire lifetime the federal government will actually get something fucking done for once.
I wouldn't be so sure. There will be infighting. A lot of those Republicans do not like him.

Yeah, I woke up late for classes, and all day I've been tired physically AND mentally. But really, it's all fine. I've slung enough shit around this election. Let's hope the man does a good job, even if I don't agree with a lot of his stances on things. I want a stable economy, and for the middle class to benefit. And yeah, he's been the only candidate other than Bernie to really talk about infrastructure. We need that.

Give this video a watch, it's actually pretty uplifting, regardless of what side you're on. One thing I liked the most, is that now we can all finally move on with our lives again, after having this dominate it for almost a year and a half. So chin up. The sun will still rise, and your sports team will still always suck. Take a breath and treat yourself to something relaxing.

Why do pollsters keep underestimating the level of white working-class disenchantment and anger with the system?
It does seem like they put plenty of more focus on minorities and how the other demographics are going to vote. They focus so much on the other details they don't remember what's right in front of them, or they don't care.
Keep in mind these polls are from past elections and data, so they were going off of that. This election Trump has energized people that didn't vote in those other elections, and even people who didn't vote. He had the excitement and X factor. That's why the polls were wrong. Same way Brexit polls were wrong.

this is the future you chose

What's funny is that all the millennials flipping their shit that Trump won hardly batted an eye at Hillary rigging the system against their Bern and Savior.
I dunno, dewd, I think those were the ones most reluctant to come to Hillary BECAUSE of that reason. Much like Republicans did with Trump though, they simply filed in behind because they thought the other guy was much worse. Still, not even Hillary fans liked Hillary.

funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; I chuckled, simply because I loved hearing him say "and Mexico's gonna pay for it", only now it's in writing and sounds far more professional. The fact something so silly is written so professionally made me laugh.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Nuclear energy is the way to go, and people who have qualms about it are usually poorly informed on the subject. All of the disasters that have occurred at power plants were either due to blatantly obvious flaws and/or critical incompetence among the people staffing them.
People who are afraid of incidents because of one fucking disaster are retarded. Any amount of research could show the Soviets completely fucked it up, played politics with it, and it was asking to be fucking wrecked. There is a shit ton of other energy sources that are JUST as dangerous too if handled wrong. It's completely asinine to think it should be canceled simply because of the potential to go wrong. You can look at coal mining and oil drilling and see it's happened WAY more and been WAY MORE HARMFUL in history. But no, we'll continue to look at that one example, and Japan having everything go wrong and have it blown way out of propitiation (no one died from it) because people like to peddle fiction. I hold people who are afraid of nuclear energy, to the same level of intelligence of people who think wifi gives you cancer, or carbon emissions aren't bad for the environment

You going to be a semantic ass or are you going to explain why Hillary was the correct choice?
Stein was the most logical choice.
She believes wifi gives you cancer She also thinks nuclear energy is dangerous because of Russia's shitty building and a tsunami and earthquake going on in Japan on the reactors built in the basement despite numerous warnings saying they should be on the hills
