For real though, it really depends on 2 things.
1. How the next 4 years go economically. 2. Who the dems run.
Knowing how stupid they're acting so far, I wouldn't be surprised if they reject the tide of liberal policies and elect some boring moderate, who really isn't that bad (Tim Kaine), but just doesn't excite anyone.
Dems need another pseudopopulist like Obama.
He was charismatic to say the least.

I honestly don't mind the Anakin being there. I understand why people are mad about it, and have every single right to be. I just personally am not affected by it.
I suppose that's the same with you and the Ewoks, so I get it. I honestly didn't mind the celebration thing though.

Honestly all of my problems with Jedi could be solved if the Ewoks were Wookies or something.
That'd have been much better, considering Wookies are actually powerhouses. Ewoks were just silly teddy bears, and everything involving them was meh. Even with Verbs reasoning of it being a childs movie, it was still incredibly boring and out of place whenever they showed up and worshiped C-3PO being a god or whatever. The ending party with them was fine though.

And I'm glad Kylo Ren doesn't have a light saber that IS his personality (Darth Maul in ep 1)
Darth Maul didn't really have a split personality until he encountered Obi Wan.
That's actually very funny lol

Not really on topic, but I'll throw this in
I like how they handle Light Saber fights in TFA. It's not overly choreographed like episode 1-3, but not exactly super dull like 4-6. It's looks like people actually swinging swords around, while trying not to get hit. It also feels like they have some weight and power behind them.

My entire argument for that though is one's acting is actually so well that it transcends the rather meh writing regarding her character, where as the other one is still boring as sin.
you really ate that half in the bag review up didn't you
It was one of those things where I felt something was off, but I wasn't able to articulate what I felt until I heard it.

Both of them are pretty cute, but they each have glaring flaws; one being boring as sin and the other a total Mary Sue.
She wasn't even that cute.
I personally thought Rey was cuter in a nerdy sort of way. My entire argument for that though is one's acting is actually so well that it transcends the rather meh writing regarding her character, where as the other one is still boring as sin.

It was the lack of any back story for either of them. You don't really care about the girl, or her father, because the first thing you see is Storm Troopers walking from REALLY far away to get to the farm, and him telling them to go hide. Nothing nice or sweet with bonding time.
Same with the dude when he says he's been at this since he was 6.
They probably want you to buy the prequel novel to the film, and while I've heard it's good, you shouldn't need to read it
Any movie/game that requires you to read expanded lore to appreciate/understand the story entirely thrown at you, is a bad film/game. The story should be contained in the movie.

I've taken such a long break that I'm shit now, and need to re-setup all my classes. It's rough.

i care about her because as a male i have a natural inclination to care about pretty girls
I care about Porkins and he wasn't even in the movie but the rest of Red squadron was
Everyone cares about Porkins

*The shiny plastic visuals.
Nothing in Battlefield 1 looks plasticy. Battlefield 1 is lightyears ahead of other FPS's in terms of looks thanks to things like photogrammetry, something they also used in Battlefront.

bf1 is shit. it plays too much like battlefront, i go back to bf4 more than bf1
This is such a stupid meme
how does it play like Battlefront
It plays like it was developed from SWBF rather than BF4, just insert WW1 skins and BF UI
this is a meme right?
Not entirely, Dice seems to have taken a more arcade-y approach to their games and that started with Hardline
Dice didnt make Hardline and you actually have to aim in BF1 whereas in battlefront all you do is spam and spam
The only things remotely similar are the menu the running animation and sand

The characters were definitely the most underwhelming part, yeah, but I thought Jyn was all right (it helps that she's a qt).
I think they were receptive to the Mary Sue complaints of Rey (she's not a Mary Sue but w/e) by giving Jyn a lot of obvious character flaws and having her outright make a dumb, human mistake during one part: in her stupor of seeing her father again, she failed to retrieve the hologram when she absolutely needed to.
Maybe, but it just doesn't help they have no backstory for any of them to really care, and they're just so... blech. If not for the ending run, I think I would have legit disliked this movie and put it as the worst one. But you don't because it ties into the movie everyone cares about. It's weird. I applaud them for trying something different, and trying to get a feel for Star Wars. I just don't think it was done amazingly well.

Yeah it was especially hard to care about the deaths in this movie. This was no saving private Ryan.
When I say Saving Ryan's Privates, I mean just the action scenes on the beach and all that. It's a war film set in the Star Wars universe. It did do that entire final stretch amazingly if you ask me. It was just the build up to it was sooooooooooooooooo long
I was referring to the deaths not having much of an impact. SPR had a lot of character development that allowed you to care about the people on screen, this movie falls short of that goal.
I wasn't comparing it to that though. Just the action with the beach. Never mind.

So I forgot to ask people
I mentioned that I felt most of the movie was pretty boring (though the ending was one of the most intense moments I think I've seen in any movie), but I think I know why
Rey in episode 7 was written rather... not so amazing, yes, but the actress Daisy Ridley did a fantastic job with her charisma and all that, thus making her acceptable. Plus I'm forgiving since it's the start of a trilogy, so they'll flesh her out more. Anyway, anyone else feel that the Jyn (main girl) was just... dull? Like a lot of the characters. I guess it was the direction they took since bleak, Saving Private Ryan tier kinda thing, but still. I just found it hard to care about really ANY of them, especially the other main guy Cassian Andor (especially since he straight up murders someone). I just... did not feel a thing for this guy at all.
And another thing, why did Forest Whitaker say he was tired of running, like he'd stand up to a big bad evil, when it was just a massive explosion? I'd understand it more if he was facing down a lot of Storm Troopers or something and went HAM before dying, but eh. I'm echoing too much of RLM, but the boring movie/boring characters thing is something I've really always felt.
I felt the only stand out people were Chirrut Îmwen (I am the Force guy. I actually enjoyed his mysticism in an otherwise bleak universe. Like he was the flicker of hope, a reminder of what was lost, and what could be found), Orson Krennic, and I guess the Droid. Yeah, the droid. I only felt a flicker of something when those guys actually kicked the bucket, because they at least had some pretty interesting personalities to them, even if one was just the comic relief.

Best way to watch movies, tbh

On this we agree. Entering a movie with preconceived notions is a pretty good way to ruin it for yourself.
Well when they show scenes, you expect them to be in it is all. I had no preconceived notions. Really I wasn't that excited for this movie at all. It felt more like an obligation to see it, rather than the excitement I felt for TFA.
