Does this mean we get a CGI meme in episode IX?
You mean VIII? Unless they filmed that already

I won't miss it at all. Giving a voice to everyone in only 200 characters is a bad idea, and I hate the toxic culture behind it. Especially shows trying to play to it and literally saying "hashtag *insert name*, hashtag *insert another name*". It really just made me cringe in the worst ways possible.

Do you die a little inside too when cable news hosts have to list off tags for things or when they bring up and show posts?
I just find it obnoxious

It's like you guys are acting like he's just at some party being goaded by his black friend, and not at his job, being a professional. He'd have easily been fired had he said it.

Also, to the non Americans who can't really grasp it, keep in mind it was only 50 years ago, one generation, that we were oppressing black people across the nation. Of course the word will still carry a heavy impact because of that, along with the hundred of years of slavery that came before it. It really shouldn't shock you. It's still a VERY fresh thing here, and racism is still a big issue, despite people saying it isn't.

At least we moved past the "I don't see race/racism doesn't exist" meme that baby boomers tried to force on us.

I see what he was doing. The word is just that. A word. It only holds the power we imbue it.

Nigger.

I typed it. My kids are biracial. They look black. They will hear it said to them. But I can say it as a word. That's all it is.
Yeah but a thing called context clearly exists, and in that case, it was alright to really say it.

It seems a bit ironic that the genius business man just made a business lose a massive amount of money.

I imagine they're not happy

No it wouldn't be, especially in his position because he would probably lose his job since it goes into being unprofessional.

Fun fact: during that movie, Leonardo diCaprio apparently apologized to Sam Jackson and Jamie Foxx a few times for saying it. It just made him feel so uncomfortable lol

when largely inaccurate and horribly biased notions resonate in echo chambers and speak more to our guts than minds.
You can blame the internet for this. Kojima was right in calling it out during its infancy, and it terrifies me.

Even as someone who is biracial (black and white, though praise Allah I look white), I still never felt comfortable really saying the word because of the ignorance I associate with it.

Not "oh that was an insult to slavery" ignorance. The "oh shit, these guys are from the inner city and act like idiots" ignorant.

Platinum is the Ufotable of video games
good but overrated, refusing to go back and work on one of their earlier projects that their hardcore fans really want?
I more so just meant the quality of what they push out, not the politics behind it.

But, do you want 2016 to end in a bang and 2017 to not suck as much or 2017 to start sucking worse than 2016?
We've already lost enough people in 2016. I have no hope for 2017

That doesn't answer your question, I know.

the queen is the figurehead of canada, too
She's the figurehead of anyone part of the Commonwealth. She don't do shit though except provide us with a meme every other year or so.

Either way, I find it funny that I know America will cover her death more than her homeland probably. We sure as heck did with the Royal Wedding. I wonder why we did.

Isn't it just the DOOM 3 campaign remastered? Or is it new?
Dude, are you living in a cave under a rock?
smh

If you're not trolling - yes, its 100% new. No relation to D3.
I don't follow gaming news and I heard about Doom 3 being remastered, hop off my nuts.
You're actually not the first person I've seen who hasn't heard of the new Doom.

I guess they didn't advertise it very well?
Not really

I'm pretty sure it did well based on word of mouth.
That's a great video.

I don't see the appeal.
they call this push forward combat

arena style fps gameplay, no ADS, no reload button, no sprint, no regen, emphasis on mobility where your aim in combat is not to hide in cover until you can pop out and get a headshot, its to dodge rockets and a bunch of fairly slow moving projectives while keeping your bead on the target and dealing damage

you can only heal by picking up health packs dropped by enemies, few are on the map

its a breath of fresh air compared to most AAA fps games
nvm, Cystic did a better job explaining it

I don't see the appeal.
Just a good revisit to the arena like shooter for multiplayer games without all the bells and whistles like perks, kill streaks, etc. Just more early 2000's stuff we all remember.

For campaign, just like the old Dooms, straight up killing demons and being a bad ass. Simplistic of course, but sometimes simplistic things are pretty good.

If anyone is interested (and you can run it), here you go. No subscription, so pay once, you're good. Thought people should know in case it ever really interested them. The character creator is the most detailed I've ever seen, so there is that.

Someone should splice together the best parts of each edition so we can all be happy.

There were PLENTY of good edits, as collected in this video:

YouTube

Yeah I agree. Some reshoots (such as the song and Vader going NO at the end) are completely silly, but all of these add much needed "life" into it that makes it more watchable in today's times. Idk about you, but it'd be very hard to watch the prequels and the new tech they put into that, only to jump back to ANH/Empire and see such silliness and empty crap. But this makes it feel like it really does take place after the prequels.

>when people in their 20s refer to ANH as simply "Star Wars"

i bet you feel so fucking authentic
People do this? Just saying "Star Wars" in reference to one movie is way too vague.

2368
I'm glad I don't have that version.

2369
I honestly don't mind the Anakin being there. I understand why people are mad about it, and have every single right to be. I just personally am not affected by it.
Same, especially since I find it difficult to make a connect between Anakin and Vader, I just can't imagine Vader once being who he was in the prequels.
I can. They tied him together well in episode 3.
