It's the same reason I'm finding American football more and more boring as well. Only 7 seconds of action and then commercial breaks. It's literally America in a nutshell with the horrible advertising. It's why I enjoy watching basketball more so now too. I like a sport where there isn't constant stopping and things can change in an instant. It's like I'm standing in front t of a mirror. All I know is that they had to speed up baseball because it was taking so long, American's on average are moving away from the sport, and other sports are rising. I blame that on the internet and how connected it has made us with the rest of the world. 11464

Sorry for the long video posting, but I am very passionate about it. Anyone who thinks American's don't enjoy the sport really are stupid and living in the 90's. There is more than enough evidence that Americans love the sport.

The trend line is heading north: The average age was 49.9 in 2009"The average age for a baseball fan at this point is in their 50's, and attendance is just below/on par with soccer attendances for MLS games.Average age is 50s? Lol nah, I see mostly young people in the stands and on sports pages talking about it. http://awfulannouncing.com/2013/kids-aren-t-watching-baseball-but-why.html Quote Attendance is only poor at Marlins, Rays, and Phillies games because those are the worst teams with the worst fanbases. Games will get around 30-40k in attendance at every other stadium. Dodger Stadium nearly sells out every game with around 50k people."League Baseball's regular season ended on Sunday and with it, paid attendance for the league (the number of tickets sold) came in at 73,739,622 with average attendance per game at 30,346" http://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2014/09/29/winners-and-losers-mlb-attendance-in-2014-nearly-74-million-through-the-gate/ I'll give you that one, though since there are so many games (192 or something), it feels like most, if not all really don't matter. Still, your point wins. Quote Soccer is only important during the World Cup apparently and football is always gonna get the most attention no matter what.True football in America will always get the most attention. That's the main sport and will be for a long time. But it doesn't only matter every 4 years, and a lot of Americans feel that way. There is a reason many European teams (primarily English ones) come over here for friendly matches. They see the investment in American fans, and we provide better EPL (English Premier League) coverage for matches every Saturday, than even England does for the most part. As for the domestic league and the fans, well look. Spoiler YouTube YouTube YouTube YouTube YouTube Really, I could go on. The fact that you think it matters every 4 years only shows your ignorance on the issue. 11468

It's great to play, duh, but you can't tell me it's really fun to watch on TV. It's too slow. Like American football honestly the more I watch soccer.
That's why this year they had to speed up the pitcher getting on the damn mound because it took too damn long. Look, all I'm saying is that with soccer rising, that whole "it's not American" is a fucking joke and those guys at ESPN need to get their heads out of their asses. It matters more than just every 4 years. 11470

Still, I mean, if Sportscenter covers all the horrible baseball highlights, why not a HIGHLIGHT OR TWO FROM YOUR OWN DOMESTIC LEAGUE, HUH?!It really does annoy me actually. The only highlights are of Messi or Ronaldo (rightfully so I guess) making goals. One time they showed an MLS game but it was the sprinklers coming on mid-game, and then proceeded to laugh and show no in game highlights.I don't know if you knew this already, but they usually play it on ESPN2. But it's filled with the same old American snobs who think it's too "European" and "boring". They say as they get wet over baseball, golf, tennis, and poker. 11471

Ever since the point was brought up (if I could find the vid, I'd link it), I find it silly people ask this. No one in the Esport community is even TRYING to legitimize it as a sport, they don't need to. As long as the revenue keeps coming the way it does, and it attracts an audience, it could be called "GAYMEZ FRENZY" and no one would give a damn.
It's very odd people outside of it try so hard to make it seem less of something than what it is, by saying it's not a sport, or others trying so hard to find a category for it to fit in. The people in the Esports community don't care, and neither should you. Move along. 11484
