Soken is pretty great though. The original music for ARR is beautiful.

The best FF composer is Masayoshi Soken, dude.
He's pretty great, but I don't think he takes it from the OG.

Edit: Actually, just The Last Story. Terra Battle is a mobile game which apparently sucks, but obviously if the soundtrack is composed by Uematsu, it's time to youtube some music.
Bitch, no Lost Odyssey?
Never got into it at the time.

Jill Valentine is another example of a female character not over sexualized (with Sheva too I guess, but she sucks). It's a shame she's part of a series that sunk faster than Titanic.
Jill in Resident Evil 5 was sexualized quite a bit.
I was thinking that too as I typed it, but then they made her fine again in Revelations.

Well technically the FF creator made the movie which drove Square Soft into the ground. So they fired him and due to blowing so much money, had to merge with their rival company Enix. Bad blood with them.

As for Uematsu, he still gets brought on to do work with Final Fantasy, such as the MMO FF 14. Anyway, I'd like to play some games by them, but sadly they're for the Wii and I do not have such a device.

Edit: Actually, just The Last Story. Terra Battle is a mobile game which apparently sucks, but obviously if the soundtrack is composed by Uematsu, it's time to youtube some music.

Here, Verby.

Spoiler
FF7 outfit

Advent Children/Kingdom Hearts and afterwards

Naturally there is gonna be excessive porn art of her because she's Tifa, but yeah. Not as oversexualized as Japan has done with countless games in the past.

Zizzy is right... I think. Yeah I was laughing at Class saying "kid" in general. The only one who can say that and sound funny and amazing about it is Bazuso.

Someone brought up that the whole "big boobs are bad" argument is as well. As in, people who says female characters having big breasts is bad because it sexualizes women, so they need to bring it down.

Well apparently people fail to understand there are women who have a pretty big breast size.
I don't find large breasts problematic in and of themselves. It's how they are displayed, and what this large-breasted character's role is in the story. Not their primary role--ALL of their roles. And if one of their roles is "the cocktease," that's a problem.

The hard thing--and we just discussed this the other day--it's very difficult to gauge intent. It's hard for me to think to myself, "Oh, well, this female character just happens to have large, nearly exposed breasts. That doesn't mean she's being sexualized--that's just how she dresses!"

I can't do that. If it's in a piece of art, chances are, it's done intentionally. Take those cutscenes from that new Fire Emblem game--there's a LOT of breast gags in that game, apparently. Clearly, they're intentionally doing that. But, frankly, I can't think of a SINGLE big-breasted female character in a game that wasn't overtly designed to be sexually tantalizing in some way. They're all cockteases. Please, please name me some, if you're so sure of yourself.

Quote
How are they supposed to feel when people instantly say "THATS WRONG!!!" when it's thrown in any form of media? Someone brought that up with Tifa and the remake of FF7, and it does bring up a point (because the girl, who happened to have big breasts, actually felt ashamed because of what I said).
That's a valid point, and Tifa is an interesting example, but I ain't ever played Final Fantasy, so I can't really gauge whether or not she was overtly sexualized or not. Forgive me if I don't take your word for it--even if there's a single scene where she does something goofy with her funbags, or some other fanservice-y shit like that, then... she fails the "test", as it were.

So again, I'm not saying it's bad to have large breasts in games--maybe SOME people are saying that, but I'm not--what I'm saying is that it's generally pretty obvious that whenever there's a character with large breasts, the only reason they are is because it makes men's dicks hard--and that, to me, has no place in video games.

Quote
She's popular because not only can she look good, but she's a good person while doing it.
That was actually pretty clever. I like that. Did you come up with it yourself?
Good points on all you said. Yeah it's a very fine line I believe. Like... Quiet in MGS V? Yeah, even THAT is a bit much for me. It's just so out there.

And yes, I did come up with it by myself, thank you c:

Edit: Actually, Verb, even in new games with Tifa in it, they made her clothes more conservative than originally. Lemme get you links.

This is common sense
Jeez I don't know why you're so snippy today

And my reasoning is that if pain is a warning of sorts, and an animal is literally being eaten alive, they were already "warned". You'd just think that after millennia of evolution, there would be something like a body going numb in that kind of situation.
I'm not snippy, trust me.

and I mean, it's not like a machine really. You can't just turn on and off your body. The closest thing I think to what you're saying is an adrenaline boost, which can shut out pain and give you an increase in body strength and speed for a little bit.

I think TV commercials piss me off more than games, because of the audience it reaches. Like, I think they made a Coke for men, and made the other seem too girly or something.

It was so retarded.

Stop. You're giving LC fantasy material.
But imagine it.

You struggle with your angry face, with a slight blush, and she hovers over you, her smirk barely visible beneath her hood.

Then her hand moves to your thigh, suggestively tracing one delicate finger up it, than to your stomach... and so on~

It wouldn't make sense for your nerves to stop working, because you could be destroying your body and not feel a thing.

That could lead to death.

Death is something we as a species want to avoid. Otherwise we'd, ya know, be extinct.

This is common sense

I think you answered your own question there, kiddo.

Usually if something hurts, it's harmful to you, so you stop doing it.

Now just amplify it if you're dying

BO3. The beta is fun so far.
I too enjoy the same shit and "momentum" that AW did better even though Treyarch is saying momentum is key. It's just a gimmick.

It's still the same engine, and piss poor hit detection.

And the guns sound even worse than last games. Treyarch makes shitty gun noises post WaW.

I've heard that BO3's movement system is a gimmick from a couple of other sources. The reason Titanfall's movement system worked was because the maps were designed around the movement, and allowing people to make their own routes. What I've seen of BO3 is that the maps are very linear and they basically force you on certain parkour routes. Titanfall had very large maps that allowed you to build massive speed and work creatively to decide where you go. BO3 appears to be the polar opposite.
This is correct. It doesn't help there is fall damage, and you slow down the moment you hit the floor, thus negating your "momentum".
