Also as MGS fans we have to band together and not buy anything MGS related post-MGSV content unless it's console-based.

A good lesson to remember is that a blind optimist is usually set up for disappointment. I know way too many friends who are depressed who claim to be "optimists". You should expect the worst, and hope for the best.

And again, you've failed to demonstrate exactly how the pacing is affected directly by the sandbox.
I've said multiple times that I agree, the pacing does feel off in The Phantom Pain. But I don't blame the sandbox for it, especially since the sandbox gameplay is inarguably what makes TPP the great game that it is.
I'll just default to what Aria said because he articulated it far better than I did. Still, I read what you two said. We're basically arguing the same thing on different sides of a coin I guess.

I would say character creation and your own choices, but that isn't an RPG by classic standards like Final Fantasy and what not. That's more of a western RPG element, where as what I listed is more JRPG.
