It's not so much Verb hating the mods as it is making up for the developers short comings.

It's the fact people are praising the mods (as they should) more than criticizing the developers not making things right, or as in depth as it should be.

If you ask him instead of just instantly condemning him, you might find you agree on some points.

I'm ready.

That looks awesome. What game is that?
Total War: Attila. It's a mod to add in that faction along with like 10 others.

Cool, I'll check it out. I love historical games that aren't filled with Assassin's Creed conspiracy bullshit.
I saw your post in the gaming thread with that mod (will give it a look).

I'll do you one better to showcase what you're in for.

YouTube

My only complaint is the time period is rather boring, so if you want a more classic one with ancient Rome, the Greek cities and Carthage and all them, go with Rome 2. I wouldn't have recommended this a year ago, but updates and mods (If you get it, I'm giving you mods to not make it shit) make it the game it shoulda been.

Still, Attila is the more polished of the two and often referred to as "what Rome 2 should have been".

I don't know why people are against it. Let him. People want to be around the leader of their religion, so let em be happy.

Plus the dude is just an amazing person anyway. Idk how people can hate him unless you declared Jihad on him.

All the mods that fixed Rome 2.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=474644847

That is also a great one. Basically throws the whole game around with new factions, and Rome has fallen. It's hard to pin one mod down though in terms of if you're looking for expansions, looks, or some changes to gameplay that make it so different.

What does it even change?

OT: The Imperial Civil War mod for StarWars: Empire at War.
Eastern Rome is changed to Byzantine (and they lost a lost of territory), Western Rome has fallen and all they control is Rome now, Mongols join the fray, all the migrating factions (Saxon's, Ostrogoths/Visigoths, etc) are all settled into their respective Kingdoms now, Macedon is in, Sassanian empire is called Persia, Arabic Kingdom is right below it and you can spread Islam, and tons more.

They all have their unique looks as well. Here, just compare the maps.

Ooo, that one looks really cool, might download that
He just updated it, yeah it's great. If you have Rome 2 as well, lemme know. I'll just link you the mods I have because they actually make it better.

The problem with the Republicans right now is they can't say anything without sounding out of touch and racist, and it only serves to make the Democrats look like the cogent party.

Yet a lot of Republican fundamentals are about as un-racist as you can get.
What the Republicans really need are younger, more diverse candidates.

I'm amazed Republicans fumble so hard with the latino demographic. Latinos, in my experience, are a fairly socially conservative, hard-work-and-family-values group of people. The republicans could have them in the fucking bag if they weren't quietly trying to cater to the "muh shrinking white population" crowd, and in doing so hand over a massive chunk of the vote to their opposition.
You're honestly right. Marco Rubio is their only hope in that regard, but Jeb is also the only hope at modernizing the party I think. But he won't be going anywhere cuz he's too boring. Rubio will probably be the nominee.

Funny how people are saying "fuck the Pope" when he's a better human being than the ones saying that.

Maybe the last pope sure, but this guy is a pretty great humanitarian.

Right wing couldn't be riding Reagan's dick harder. He did some things right, yeah, but they treat him like a founding father. It's ridiculous.
agreed.

Of course I'm still not sure if I'm right wing or not.
You can have conservative values without looking like any of the idiots that run the Republican party.

Best: JFK/Johnson. I say Johnson because his political maneuvering to carry on JFK's policies was an insanely hard feat. So I throw them hand in hand. Naturally his Vietnam shit was bad.

Worst: Andrew Johnson. The man basically brought on a hundred more years of oppression by duh white man. Anyone who says Bush doesn't know their history.

Worst Prime Minister: Margaret Thatcher to my knowledge.
>LB "I'll have those niggers voting democrat for a hundred years" Johnson

>best
I mentioned him because if Kennedy wasn't assassinated, odds are he wouldn't have been able to push his policies as soon as Johnson for more than a number of reasons. Johnson is well regarded for how he maneuvered against people opposing it, even going as far as pure intimidation. Something along the lines of

"If you get in my way, I will take you down." or something like that.

Carter is insanely underrated. That's not to say his whole thing with Iran wasn't a disaster (those helicopters crashing were obviously not his fault), but yeah.

Reagan's economics (reganomics) set in motion the great recession we are still experiencing. Besides, to say Bush is the worst is too soon. It takes a LONG time to feel the effects of a presidents policies and actions. We're just now getting the fallout from Bush, and it's obviously not great.

But I refuse to think he is the worst.

Best: Tie between Ronald Reagan and Teddy Roosevelt

Worst: Bush, definitely Bush
Ronald Reagan single handedly implemented policies that made our economy crash when Bush was in office, revived the retarded idea that "no government = good" when you need government for fundamental things to drive an economy, and a foreign policy plan that was hats off retarded. Anyone who says he took down the Soviets is absolutely retarded and doesn't know the factors to why the Soviet Union collapsed.

Iraq war woulda been fine if we didn't literally oust everyone in that government and not give em a job, put an oppressed sect of the religious minority suddenly in power (which was more asinine than the Saddam regime. Bush didn't even know there WERE sects of Islam), and then try to pull a Rome and nation build. Now look at it. That government it toppled.

Same with Afghanistan really. American nation building is about as effective as American Congress.

Could this be another Russian Afghanistan, perhaps? He's about to go against a shit load of factions. Conventional warfare will never work.
It'd turn into an ongoing insurgency at least rather than "these areas are ISIS land", it wouldn't solve the crisis but it would stabilize it.

Russia isn't ready to deal with an ongoing insurgency though, and everyone knows that. IDK how else this situation can be improved in the long run. Radicals know now that if they just wait long enough for the big boys to get tired they can just seize up land immediately upon their departure. And with all of the good Muslims dying or leaving the area this shit just gets harder to reestablish any actual order.

Russian intelligence isn't afraid to kill terrorists though, and the world's a host different in Mesopotamia compared to the Kush when it comes to finding people.
Good points. Well at least someone is doing something, really.

And nice touch with the Mesopotamia.
