The common law right to keep and bear arms (which is where the right comes from, the common law; bill of rights is a codification of common law rights, not a creation of new ones) is and always had been for tyranny fighting and self defense (even before America, let alone Heller). Hunting is immaterial and has nothing to do with the right. If guns were only for hunting, then the government could happily take away whatever they wanted, because no, you don't need a gun to hunt. But that's not the case. There's no right to hunt, there's a right to keep and bear arms for fighting tyranny and self defense.
