Halo: Reach wasn't a bad game, nor Destiny is. You have quite a huge misconception about what people overall think about the game. The people who complain about Destiny and post jokeful threats such as "I will return the game!" is merely a vocal minority of a much larger player base.
If Bungie doesn't get more than $500 million back on sales, they're in trouble. I'm surprised they even managed to stay afloat after Halo Reach because Halo Reach had it's price dropped in less than a month, at least in my town. Not to mention they released a demo because it wasn't selling. Try to find a demo version of Halo 3 or Halo 3 ODST or hell even Halo 4, they don't exist.

I know you don't like me Deci, but I feel the same way. Not as bad as you, I was fortunate enough that my parents were well off, but it made me spoiled. I was bullied and called names from middle school to high school; felt like an outcast as well. Excluded from things from people who I thought were my friend. I'm going through what you are, I don't know what to do anymore. I've done nothing for five months since graduating and it doesn't feel good, so you're not alone. I don't know what keeps me going. I'm a 22 year old with only three months of work experience. I'm a freaking spoiled brat and that's why I feel lost in life, I never had to fully provide for myself.

Seeing how we have one for Star Wars, I'd figured there should be one for Halo.
I view the first 3 games and ODST as canon. The book The Fall of Reach and First Strike along with Contact harvest as canon.
Halo 4 to me is like a bad fan-fiction story, and Halo: Reach destroyed the real beginning of Halo 1.
And if anyone here has actually read first strike which is between the end of Halo 1 and the beginning of Halo 2, it explains how Chief made it back to earth, befriended Sgt Johnson, Needed a suit upgrade, and even introduced the engineers way before ODST. Oh and spoilers....
Spoiler They had to kill the engineer because it knew intel about Cheif's Mark V and they didn't want The Covenant to know about this, hence they killed it. At least from what I remember when I last read the book.
All agreed except for Reach— I believe the game serves the canon greatly. Just my opiate opinion.
