The Flood / Re: Windows 8.1 is now my main OS on my computer AMA about it« on: October 19, 2014, 06:26:36 PM »Do you have a link to every single thing that you use btw? I think I'd like to give the rest a chance. I'll give ClassicShell another chance too.I cut down on stuff I use. I only use ClassicShell and some of the WinAero plug-ins now. Classicshell brings back the start button, puts desktop programs as default to open files instead of the apps and skips the metro/tiles. Winaero is all about aesthetics. It lets you customize your taskbar, bring back the "glass" corners and tabs of Win7, removes the Windows 8 charms when you move your mouse to a corner of the screen... Just look around and see what you like. Eh. I got ClassicShell back. Not as buggy as I remember it to be. I like the Windows 8 areo though so I wanna keep that. I think you can disable the corners in ClassicShell already in the settings. If not I'm not to bummed out. I just created my own Start Orb and my famous emblem in Halo that people know me with is my start orb. I combined the Reach and 4 emblems with it since they are already transparent in backgrounds. It looks awesome! Here, I'll show you: What do you think? I could have swapped it with the Reach being the normal one since the red is darker on that, but I like it when I hover over it and it turns dark. That's even cooler imo. Spoiler I lost Photoshop in the process, so I used an online imagine editor to pull this off. 19791

The Flood / Re: Windows 8.1 is now my main OS on my computer AMA about it« on: October 19, 2014, 05:32:05 PM »Alright, feel free to let me know.Oh, that's new to me. I didn't see that option when I first got my laptop. You don't have to boot to it, tho. That's true, but it still boots up to it. There's also the lack of a "proper" start button and the "apps" that are always full-screen and are set as the default way of doing stuff. But you don't have to use it. You just click on "desktop" and it's basically the same as win7I don't see why people are bent out of shape about win8/8.1. It's a great OS with some great under-the-hood improvements over win7.The metro / tile UI is absolutely horrendous imo. Do you have a link to every single thing that you use btw? I think I'd like to give the rest a chance. I'll give ClassicShell another chance too. Oh and another thing, I need to reinstall Maya and Mudbox for school but that won't be a problem at all. I'll also be reinstalling Horizon. 19793

I was expecting more people to hate on it because it's BS. I mean it has it's BS but it doesn't smell as bad as it used to. Just my two cents on the matter, hence I bought it. 19794

Now that I have 8.1, I have a lot to tinker and play around with and possibly break. Because that's what I do best. I'll let you know if there is anything else you can do with it so far. 19796

Probably because in the installation I told it to keep all of my personal files. That could be why. I dunno. 19798
The Flood / Re: Windows 8.1 is now my main OS on my computer AMA about it« on: October 19, 2014, 05:17:09 PM »Did you use any of the programs I told you about ages ago to skip the tiles and get the "normal" start button and lay-out back? I have for 7, but not for 8.1 no. Personally I can live without it. Mine boots straight to the desktop anyway. Not to the tiles. I've had some issues with classic shell in the past, besides, I do like the apps that I have. You mind listing everyone else though as a crash course? I'm curious to look into those and hopefully classic shell won't have any fucking problems this time around. 19799
