Holy shit it's Chakas.

Dude, I haven't seen you in forever.
Why not? Where have you been? I'm on this site almost everyday. I don't post too much but I'm here.

Well I haven't been very active on here since I joined. I have time off from school so I got to come back home for the week (my computer is here) and I'm just starting to see people I used to know more and more often. That's why.

Just cool to see so many familiar faces, really.

Quake 3 / Live.
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.
Dark Souls.

>tfw I haven't played any of those

God, I suck.
Damn bro, gotta step up your game.

But to be fair, I haven't played TLOU either.

Yeah, I'm thinking of making a thread about must-play games that aren't so dated. I haven't played KOTOR, Dark Souls, Fallout... my gaming background is severally handicapped.

Yeah but the main one would be Snake since he's the only one I've actually talked to, like with my voice.

We seriously need to play together again. Me, you and James. It's a shame that there are virtually no MP games for us to enjoy.

Wait, are people still excited for this game? After they told us that there was effectively no multiplayer, I just assumed that this game took a massive (and much needed) blow to it's hype train.

[Genuine question tho]
I'm excited for the concept, i'm hoping that by the time it releases on X1 they'll have improved upon the first release version. Or alternatively if it's shit I don't care whether it comes to X1 or not-i'll probably be busy in Elite-Dangerous when it comes out around that time anyways

I think it's a bit ambitious to say there's billions of planets and shit, though. Destiny had a 500mil budget and only has like 5 locations. I find it really hard to believe that this indie dev team can do better than Bungie did.

But I'm probably wrong or ignorant with my outdated information.
Random generation, Minecraft is proof that it's possible on such a scale and the only difference with NmS is that it uses proper 3D models rather than cubes. And HelloGames has a lot of quality talent to draw on, the area is filled with devs and students. Hell, I live 30 minutes away and I know people nearby with the level of talent required.

Besides, Destiny is a blatant cash-grab whereas NmS started out because a few local lads wanted to challenge themselves and do something interesting, not to get rich.

I guess we'll find out. I just find it hard to believe that you can make complex, living environments by the billions with huge playspaces whilst being an indie dev. Those are feats even the best AAA studios struggle with.

And now I wait for the purported BvS teaser.

Spoiler
Mosasaur =/= Dinosaur

I stand corrected. Again.

I'll fix my error.

Make sure you make a thread when the BvS trailer is live.

[Sorta relevant] I was Snake for Halloween this year, and it was pretty sweet, actually. I spent like $300 bucks on the costume total but it was totally worth it.

Gears of War 2 announcement trailer

wasteland 2 credits
These two are just good songs in general, not video game specifically.

Quote
New Conglomerate OST (Planetside 2)

Terran republic OST (Planetside 2)

Planetside 2 main theme

The other ones I could take or leave... the Main theme at the end is the best of the three, though.

Ive yet to hear a OST as energetic as this

For some reason I was getting a distinctly Diddy Kong Racing vibe from this.

Not bad, though. Better than the other FF stuff that's been posted.
You dare doubt that Nobuo Uematsu's work is of the highest quality?

Hey, I'm just taking this stuff at face value. I have no nostalgia from FF, GoW, or any of the other soundtracks people have posted. My gaming history is severely lacking.

Halo CE and Halo 3 ODST are the greatest games of all time.

Halo CE deserves to be on anyone's list of GsOAT. Not so much ODST, as it was more a cash-in (a good one, at that) and a way for Bungie to get away without making a sequel to 3.

Solid game. I have two platinums from it. Grounded was a bitch!

The hardest parts were the bloater, falling down the elevator shaft, after you give Ellie the sniper rifle, and the final section before you get Ellie.

The boater dies like a bitch if you shoot it in the neck with the bow. The elevator shafts isn't too hard. Check the door, get the keycard and haul ass to the door. Sniper section is tricky. Luckily there is a checkpoint once you kill most of them. The hospital is the hardest part you mentioned, due to the lack of checkpoint.

Well yeah, I know that now. But I didn't when I was playing. It was a bitch when you went in for the first couple of tries.

Would you care to justify yourself, then? Should be interesting, coming from an intellectual, like yourself.
The only reason somebody can characterise the Middle Ages as the "Dark Ages" is by being exceptionally ignorant of Medieval history. The Middle Ages were far, far from dark.

Not to mention, your graph conflates all three periods of the Middle Ages with the "Dark Ages", which usually only refers to the Early Middle Ages from the years 400-900.

I've always been under the impression that the "Middle Ages" were an abrupt stop for scientific advancement. I've been wrong this whole time, then?
Yes, pretty much.

Good to know. I'll redact my photo.

The game has a great story to it, and the choices are brilliant (In the sense they are shades of grey).

You might like the combat, it's not for everyone but I did enjoy it.

Well I was watching some of the Witcher 3's combat. Is it anything like that?

It seems to me like it's a tic-tac-toe system, similar to the Arkham game's formula (albeit, a bit for fluid and complex).

Halo 2.
Vanquish.
Metal Gear ACID 2.

Halo 2 had the worst soundtrack overall, though.
