There's a mega blocks set which has Kat using a bubble shield against a Halo 3 brute on a chopper, good job at keeping the canon 343.

I assume Brute Choppers were not exclusive to the Halo 3 timeline.

i'm assuming that megablocks are toys and none of this is meant to be taken as canon

we've allowed threads that have to do with peoples personal problems in here before

and seeing as how this thread is a weird combo of his personal problems and a sales pitch i'll allow it

They didnt like what Bravely Default did iirc
Oic

It did what FF2 did I think? I forget.
I forgot exactly, but I think it was along the lines of what LC said, they tried to appeal to everybody, and in a place like Japan, its almost always been a set of limited things that work over there, hence why the games never really get much different and a lot move to the west, so it didn't do well, whereas it worked in the west because its more open to that attempt in the west.

actually it was the opposite. it worked well because it focused on appealing to JRPG fans instead of trying to cast a large net and appealing to everybody.

I think that there's an argument to be made that says by trying to appeal to everybody you end up appealing to nobody. A good example of this being the success bravely default had in the west.

From the trailers alone, Atriox seems like a badass and memorable enemy.

I'm gonna use this post as an anchor to bring up a random thought I had today.

Happened to be thinking about all we know about Brutes. We know that they're deadly in their own right but when you throw one into the mix who has above average intelligence they become incredibly dangerous.

And I got around to thinking, that of all the various species shown in the series, even though Brutes stand out less in terms of uniqeness (not reptilian, crustacean, or insectoid, or other) and they don't have a unique spin on their physiology like other races, I think something else sets them apart and makes them terrifying as a concept.

They're us. They're all the primal instincts and raw strength. They're the old barbaric practices in our history and the crude practices we have today. As a concept they touch onto the darker corners of what we are as a species, with the only difference being that they do it better.

That's part of the reason they became my favorite alien race in Halo. I really liked how in 3 they went back to using their own projectile weaponry instead of continuing to use the plasma based weaponry the elites preferred. I'm hoping we get to see more of their weaponry in Halo 6 as we really only got their grenade launcher, grenade, hammer, smg, and pistol in 3.

Everybody jokes that Halo Wars was Babies first RTS. If that's the case do you think I could play the second one with only one hand?
Of course.

They didn't learn anything from Halo Wars 1 or the console version of C&C 3 Kane's Wrath which is the best console RTS.

but EndWar was the best console RTS
No it's not

don't let anyone poopoo you for enjoying awakening, the game is fine even if it's on the easier side. none of the fire emblem stories are particularly good anyway so the only thing that matters is if you personally find it entertaining or not. i personally enjoyed the story to awakening because i like it when stories monkey around with time and parallel worlds.
My issue with it was it didn't know where it was going until the very end. Well, that and Walhart. His battle theme is fantastic. Funny enough though, I think I enjoyed Awakening more than Fates simply because of the characters, music, and... idk. General production of it. It gives me the old FE games feel with the map. Something about it. Fates is just really not that amazing to me.

I think the core cast just isn't as interesting to me as Awakening's were.

Spoiler
i thought it was kind of obvious that the point of the story was to avoid Lucinas future. the whole grima thing takes everyone by surprise in her timeline so she slides into yours to prevent it from happening. there are several events throughout the game that go differently because lucina is there to alter them and because of this the scene you see at the start of the game ends up playing out differently and grimas chapter ends shortly after it begins instead of progressing into the Future Past timeline where the 1st generation of characters is dead and the children have to survive in a doomed world.

walhart is one of those road to hell is paved with good intentions characters. his goal is to unite mankind behind him so he can take on grima, but he's going about it entirely the wrong way. this leads to chrom being heavily injured in lucinas timeline and it's a key reason as to why grima is able to rise virtually unopposed.

well awakening was pretty much everything IS wanted to do in a fire emblem game. they were told that it was probably going to be the last game in the franchise so it really became a passion project for them as they were under the impression that they'd never get another chance to do some of the stuff they had always wanted to do

Well I heard it was Baby's First FE title which was perfect for me since I'm a massive shitlord that can't into tactical gameplay despite being pretty good at RTS's.

Also Lucina is a QT.

It's not that great. The story doesn't even have an overarching plot until the last act which feels rushed. Only reason I liked it was for the music and core characters.

And Severa
Everyone loves Lucina cuz broody character with the voice actress everyone knows.

Yeah it is babby's first technically, but it's gonna make the earlier ones rougher for you since you can't casual.

i don't think you know what broody is if you think lucina is broody

Someone who plays these kids of games: when and how should I go about summoning stuff?
What do you mean? I'd save up orbs before you summon, as the first summon is 5, and if you summon in the same go, it's only 4. Try to find some good 4 starts on each color for some good balance.

Save up to about how many would you say?

you need 20 to break all the orbs from your summon circle

so if you're aiming for a specific character and want to play it safe save up 20 before you roll the gacha, that way if you get 5 of the same color orb you can break all of them

Wow, only now? I thought PS4 had objectively better UI, but no custom backgrounds? Lul.
External HDD was missing too? Was Sony having a giggle?

eh... i'm not sure if i'd say the UI is objectively better. it's pretty slick and i like it, but the store front is a complete mess and the search function is completely useless.

« on: February 03, 2017, 10:57:18 AM »
Wait, people actually fall for the 80 developers meme? That was never going to happen and is a steaming load of hot shit even if developers were lining up to make games for the Switch. We all know Nintendo has too much damn pride to let third party be a driving force on their console; they still think that they're good enough to carry their own console themselves. The only reason the Wii got as much shovel-ware as it did is because of its fluke sales making it more popular than was expected and Nintendo gave third parties a free pass to rake in some more dough.

it also had the lowest attachment rate of its gen so shovelware was really the only thing that could turn a profit on it for third parties
