It was already done and a bunch were submitted. Cheat just has to get around to looking at them which will apparently happen after he fixes some bugs that have been slated to get squashed for a while now.

So we're going to have 2 sets of desert themed maps, a set of ice themed maps, a set of forest themed maps, and a set of volcanic themed maps.
I wish there was a little more variety honestly. I guess since most of the interesting worlds to visit are now non-canon they had to make due with what's been mentioned or seen in the movies.

I just had a friend tell me that "maybe it's for the best", "I didn't like space battles/Droids anyway", and "at least there's a season pass for the DLC".
I really don't want to end a friendship I've had for over a decade, but he's making it really hard not to.
But the space battles were pretty shitty. Only one viable class and the points you got from destroying shit was based on RNG so the better team could still lose.
Also it was easier to destroy shit from the outside so boarding was basically useless.

Previously every planet had one map with a possible space battle (that doesn't really change anything besides what planet is below you); unless they've otherwise said that there's more than one location per planet, we have to go by what Battlefront has always done: planet = map.
Rhen Var, Tatooine, Yavin, Bespin, Naboo, and Kashyyk all had two maps.

A big problem is that the rebels are apparently still a resistance group according to one of the plaques at the convention.
It's been like 40 years since the fall of the empire and they sti haven't formed a new republic.
The Empire never fell though. The Emperor, Darth Vader, part of their fleet, and the second Death Star all got destroyed. The Empire still had ships all over the galaxy though and controlled numerous worlds.
Going by old canon, yeah it kinda did. It split into a bunch of imperial remnant factions that either waged war on each other to gain control of the former empire or fucked off and set up their own mini empires as warlords.

You misunderstand. Again, all speculation, but my idea is there is no Imperial remnant; what was the Galactic Empire, but then split up into factions, has since been reunited under this banner of the First Order, but it's focus is now more centered on the Sith/Dark Side.
No you misunderstand. I'm saying this "First Order" is lame and I want an imperial remnant faction lead by a character like Thrawn to show up and take their place as the new trilogies antagonist faction.
