What faction are you in? My character is in the Daggerfall Covenant faction.

Most boring faction in the game. Doing DC for my veteran shit and my god is it the worst faction out of the three. Highrock is boring as fuck. Morrowind is at least alien looking to a degree and AD has the best quests.

MS would be able to weasel around it by saying something like timed and console exclusive.

LC is a pretty girl, you could ask him for pics.
Yeah, but grandma LC is old and wrinkly
There are two LCs though.
stop
I'm just saying, there is Gramma LC and there is Elsee.
I'm not familiar with this meme, please explain
Well you see, long long ago when LC got bumped up to admin/cheef of the mods I suggested the title of Grandmaster Ninja was awarded to the position <_<

This has the terribly unfortunate coincidence of being cut off as 'Grandma' on mobile hence 'Grandma LC' but neko being the にげる that he is deleted the screencap from his photobucket or someshit so it is forever lost ;-;

Elsee is what LC sounds like when you say it, and since Elsie is a girls name LC is a pretty girl.
Also this

Why would you save that?

What are we discussing here?

It's a discussion about annoying commercial jingles. I thought this was fairly obvious.

All these people picking games where they would die horrible deaths

6099

M8, that's just SPECIAL. It's always had those descriptions so there's no way you'd be able to infer that it's taken the place of your typical stats and considering this is Bethesda we're talking about (you know, the people who took Morrowinds rather deep and intricate system and turned it into Skyrims casualized, lowest common denominator catering, bore fest) there's little to suggest that they're doing much to retain the little remaining depth that Fallout 3 had. Especially since Tod Howard and Bethesda haven't done anything to assuage the concerns people have of stripped away RPG mechanics.

That being said I still think the game looks good (and fun) and I'm still probably going to pick it up on the PC.

6100

I'm talking about the stats governed gameplay, speech checks, skill checks, et cetera. Fallout 4 has removed these and turned the gameplay into what is essentially an FPS.

Can I get a source on those claims?

Did you watch the gameplay?

So lemme get this straight;

You're taking what little gameplay we've seen so far, which has almost certainly been vetted so that no major story is plot is gathered, (e.g. the short chat with the man has been clearly cut out, while the conversation with Codsworth is hardly to going to be anything important that needs speech checks or skills required), and basing it solely off that?

C'mon man, I thought you were better than this. I'll take back what I've said if you turn out to be right, but assuming they've removed the absolute core of Fallout from what little we've garnered so far is just insane. Closer to the mark with more gameplay preview to generate hype (and to respond to accusations such as this) will hopefully quell the doubts.

Removal of stats means no speech or stat checks. If you've actually watched the gameplay (especially the power armor segment) you'll see that it basically plays like a shooter. Every conversation we've seen is a 4 choice dialogue wheel.
stats have been replaced with a more fleshed out perk system which can be seen during the crafting segment video. Instead of putting X number of points into science before you can use a laser pistol, you'll have to have taken the tier 1 Science! Perk

Your SPECIAL also has more weight on your attributes like sneak and barted now

It's safe to assume you'll need certain charisma or perks like ladykiller to accomplish certain dialog options

More numbers doesn't automatically mean it's a better system.

Care to link where Bethesda has said all of this regarding skills? Because from what I've heard they haven't said a word regarding this whole skills debacle.

Did you watch the gameplay?

Yeah, it shows the removal of the skills screen, Tod gives lip service to perks without going into any detail, and absolutely nothing on SPECIAL.

They're both isometric RPGs and a bit dated. If you're fine with that then go ahead.

Wat

At the cost of dialogue options, a moldable character, a true branching story, and RPG mechanics. These two don't even have to be mutually exclusive. Bethesda is just trying to further casualize the RPG genre.
LC pulling stuff out of his ass again
How do you know the story already?
What rpg mechanics do you want? Dice rolls? How do you know what rpg mechanics are even in the game? Not a mold able character? oh no the character has a voice boo hoo plenty of excellent RPGs have voiced characters

It's a Bethesda story which means it's railroad simulator.

A voiced main character means less variation because you now have to pay a the VA for every line. This means less choice and everything has to be centered around the main characters pre defined personality. Think Mass Effect, for the most part Shepard is either Lawful Good or Lawful Evil.

Here's a comparison between Fallout 4, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas.

I'm talking about the stats governed gameplay, speech checks, skill checks, et cetera. Fallout 4 has removed these and turned the gameplay into what is essentially an FPS. Think the change between Mass Effect 1 and 2, but remove even more RPG mechanics.

By lacking a predefined personality and giving the player a backstory that doesn't do much other than give you a reason to exist in the world you allow the player to define their characters own personality and moral standing through their choices and actions.

Plenty of RPGs have voiced characters, but that doesn't mean you have to take an RPG that's thrived on how open it is and strip away what's defined it in order to make Falllout Effect.

You're just getting pissy because someone is pointing out flaws in Fallout 4.

« on: June 19, 2015, 12:57:02 AM »
all they had to do was basically reskin Battlefront 2 and everyone would have been happy

why is that so hard?

Battlefront 2 was basically a half ass mod of Battlefield 2 that was slapped together and sold for $50. Same with Battlefront 1.

Why people are upset that Battlefront is yet again a Battlefield ripoff is beyond me. The first two Battlefield ripoffs were fun and this one looks fun too.

Going to echo Verb here and say that forcing this shit on pets that literally can not survive on that diet is stupid and that veganism isn't about having a naturally healthy diet, it's about ethics.

Now whether or not I agree with that set of ethics is a different subject.

The Flood / Re: Broly is like the worst DBZ villain ever
« on: June 18, 2015, 02:37:44 PM »
Broly suffered from pure insanity. Out of the Z universe so far, I'd have to say the Evil Buu, Frieza and Broly were the most terrifying villains in the series.  What else do the villains want!? They either want to rule or destroy. How much story can be put into that? All Broly wanted to do was destroy, all Frezia wanted to do is rule with an iron fist and Buu wanted to destroy. See?

Well fuck, get creative then.

I dunno. Can't they toss in a bad guy who's some big league corporate shill or some shit but can compete with the likes of Goku physically but doesn't choose to? I dunno, sink Goku in red tape or something.
What, like Lex Luthor?

Ho my lord yes. It'd be hilarious.

And you have to add snark. Said villain knows goku and friends aren't much into the finer details of intricate things.

Well Gohan is. He's like the only intelligent one of the bunch.
