the biggest problem is that we simply don't know. An artificially created intelligence could decide to do any number of things, it could help us, or conversely it could go Verbatim on us and come to a conclusion that life is a bad thing and should be eliminated, an then hack the whole planet and nuke us.

Ok

this is just a thought here

This little story sprung to mind.
Spoiler
Dwan Ev ceremoniously soldered the final connection with gold. The eyes of a dozen television cameras watched him and the subether bore throughout the universe a dozen pictures of what he was doing.
He straightened and nodded to Dwar Reyn, then moved to a position beside the switch that would complete the contact when he threw it. The switch that would connect, all at once, all of the monster computing machines of all the populated planets in the universe -- ninety-six billion planets -- into the supercircuit that would connect them all into one supercalculator, one cybernetics machine that would combine all the knowledge of all the galaxies.
Dwar Reyn spoke briefly to the watching and listening trillions. Then after a moment's silence he said, "Now, Dwar Ev."
Dwar Ev threw the switch. There was a mighty hum, the surge of power from ninety-six billion planets. Lights flashed and quieted along the miles-long panel.
Dwar Ev stepped back and drew a deep breath. "The honor of asking the first question is yours, Dwar Reyn."
"Thank you," said Dwar Reyn. "It shall be a question which no single cybernetics machine has been able to answer."
He turned to face the machine. "Is there a God?"
The mighty voice answered without hesitation, without the clicking of a single relay.
"Yes, now there is a God."
Sudden fear flashed on the face of Dwar Ev. He leaped to grab the switch.
A bolt of lightning from the cloudless sky struck him down and fused the switch shut.

and then he unplugged the power cord instead

Well an AI at this point would probably require a supercomputer to run, depending on how it develops itself and the way said supercomputer is set up, it may be able to deny access to it's interface, at which point you'd have to manually cut power to it.

The AI might have the possible capability to upload itself onto somewhere on the net or another active computer or something.

It may be able to do those things, it may not.

The whole point is we don't know how sophisticated a program or machine with true intelligence and the ability to learn and manipulate itself could become or how it may behave, and there lies the issue

Then unplug the thing nigga. A computer like that wouldn't be connected to the rest of the world in all likelihood anyway,

Why I trudged through like 150 episodes of that shit is beyond me.

LOL WHAT THE FuCK

The episodes are like 15 minutes long and I usually would put it up in a different window while doing other stuff like homework. My girlfriend at the time really liked it, and it was pretty popular. 150 is probably an exaggeration, and it was kind of fun, but it really is just a terrible show.

Let me tell you how the world works:

Anime is garbage

I used to think that, but there are more than a few series that aren't terrible voice actors doing nonsensical shit with terrible animation.

Fullmetal Alchemist
Baccano!
Cowboy Bebop
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet
Attack on Titan (meh)
Eden of the East
Death Note (first half)
I have been thinking of finishing FMA, I am on episode 30 and I don't really want to switch to brotherhood until I finish the first anime. So I am guessing it is worth while (If it is not already clear I don't want anime except this one show).

But Brotherhood is superior in every way and actually follows the manga/comics.

You ain't seen nuthin yet

The movie that was supposed to end that series had ninjas fighting on the moon and in space without any sort of space suit or oxygen supply.

I'm guessing you're trying to ask why Jesse Jackson is one of the first people to jump on anything having to do with crime involving a black person and a person of any other ethnicity, yet refuses to say a word on the issues that plague the black community internally?

should i get it? i've never played mass(lol kinder?) effect
The series goes  somewhat downhill after ME1, and a vertical drop after ME2
I disagree. ME3 may not be an RPG but the story was still great to me.

People like to think the bad ending = everything ruined. I can really only think of one instance where that has really happened and it was a book. And I thought the extended endings brought closure to it, so I liked it even more.

No spoilers though for the frog man.

Edit: Challenger I'm glad you're enjoying it. Don't listen to what others say, and base them from your own experiences. Regardless of how you feel, it'll bring you an adventure well worth playing.
shut up
Excuse me? Who the fuck do you think you are you pathetic piece of shit?

In fallout the nukes are designed to cause radioactive fallout, while in our world our nukes are designed to cause little to no contamination as possible.

A nuclear meltdown is worse than an air bursting nuke.

Chernobyl recovered and is now an urban jungle.
You say recovered. but its still radioactive to an extent down there right? Plus, from its history I doubt anyone would want to inhabit that place ever again, leave it to nature.

By recovered I mean it isn't a smoldering wasteland that's devoid of life. Plants give no fucks.

Well yes a meltdown is going to release a ton of radioactive waste into the environment. Chernobyl won't be safe for humans for thousands of years.

You can actually visit Chernobyl now.

They even run tours.
