The point is that the same thing can be said about every other medium so acting like these things are exclusive to a single one is rather silly. I don't think that's what he's acting like, though.
When someone is saying I don't understand/like/hate/whatever [X] because it contains [Y] when [Y] is found in every other medium/genre/whatever they're singling it out despite the fact that the things they don't like about it are rife within the mediums/genres/whatever they themselves enjoy they are acting like it's exclusive to one medium/genre/whatever. Also no Verb. Normal people don't actually give a shit about what others find enjoyable as long as they aren't hurting themselves and/or others.

I really don't understand video games.
Besides a few super mature video games, like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto, what is the appeal of the stuff? The stupid cheesy as fuck humor, the cringeworthy character acting, every person who is into video games seems like a giant troll. It's almost like my little pony a little bit, when I see the video game avatars and stuff.
If you honestly thought this, I would respect your opinion and I wouldn't find it ridiculous or unfair at all.

Eh, a lot of companies these days will publicly denounce it to protect their assets and look good to investors but they know that the reality is that a pirated copy doesn't equate to a lost sale and can actually end up increasing sales in certain cases.
Now if the vast majority of people turned to piracy and it really started to affect their bottom line then you'd see people start to care. However at the moment the people who are actually interested in the product being sold will actually pay for it while the people who pirate it likely had no intention of buying it in the first place and probably never would have if piracy wasn't a thing.

Also I think the mods have given up on being more strict in their moderation.
It's more like the need for moderation has gone down due to people on the whole being a lot more relaxed than they use to be. I think there have been 4 legit reports in the last two weeks, three of which were just simple spam.
