Everybody good stopped playing titanfall after the dedicated servers were pulled.

Also you're using a gun that plays the game for you.

Buy anyone with half a brain could shit on a smart pistol user dozzens of times before they actualy get a lock on.

Uhh, not if you're good at the game no. A good player using the smart pistol basically forces everyone else to use the smart pistol in order to compete.

It sounds balanced on paper, but when you put it into practice it's actually pretty broken.

I like how the BBC used a picture of the French actor that cut his hand on some glass instead of the 5 marines that actually stopped the man.

Gaming / Re: EA defending day one DLC and no single-player in SWBF
« on: August 20, 2015, 01:37:10 PM »

The lore aspect of the DLC is irrelevant to the point I'm making. You're more than welcome to argue that Javick should have been free instead of being bundled with the CE and sold to people who didn't have it. However the fact remains that it was content that was not finished before the final build was submitted to MS and Sony for certification. If the content of the DLC wasn't important lore wise to ME nobody really would have cared about it.
Talk about being EA's wet dream

So what you're saying is that you can't refute me.
Giving people more in-game content that affects the game than someone else isn't good in any way and shouldn't be supported at all.
There's no excuse for day 1 DLC besides money grubbing. It's called Day One DLC, because it's ready for the games' launch, and not because "oh shit better make more content for our loyal customers because we care about them dearly".

It's not "giving" if the person paid for it and no shit it's ready for day one if it's not finished before certification. What you're proposing is that developers and publishers just sit and wait to sell content that was finished between certification and launch just so a vocal minority can feel good about themselves despite the fact that sales are highest for DLC when it's close to release.

I also don't have a problem with in game pre-order bonuses as long as there's a way to obtain them for people who didn't pre-order. Psychical goods are always ok by me.

What's the Day One DLC again? Is it the Battle of Jakku map? Because at least that's going to be made available to everyone for free a week later. Sure, it's still shitty, but it's still much better than the ME3 day one DLC and many other examples

Battle of Jakku is a free DLC map pack that comes out a month after launch. The only day one thing I can think of are the early unlocks for the special edition buyers.
"Day one DLC/ early content is okay"
-LC

It is. Not only are you putting your teams that would normally not be doing anything during the later phases of development to work, but you're also maximizing profit due to the fact that DLC is most profitable when it's close to the date of release.

That shit was fully completed before the game was announced

Uhh it actually wasn't, but ok.

released*

I have no idea why I said announced

Well yeah, they completed it during the space of time that existed between their final build and the launch date. Their art and sound teams were working on it during the space of time where they'd normally be sitting on their hands which is why some of Javicks assets are on the disc.

I go through spurts where I play it for a bit before putting it down again. A certain someone loved my live reaction to HoW, thought about doing one for TK, but it's forty freakin dollars.

There's  nothing wrong with most day 1 DLC if you actually know how game development and the industry works.

don't you mean star wars battlefield?

because that doesn't look like battlefront to me
but the tie fighter sound

but the not resembling a battlefront game
Shocking, considering Battlefront was basically Battlefield anyway.

Most people here started with either battlefield bc2 or 3 so they think that battlefront is unique and wasn't essentially a battlefield 2 reskin with a shit selection of maps.

The ball is in Sony's court for the EA access one. People need to stop asking EA why it's not on the PS4 and start asking Sony.
