The Flood / Re: yutaka should be demoted« on: October 13, 2015, 12:40:35 AM »Just going to put in my 2 cents on this line of conversation and some just thoughts I've been kicking around in my head. Might end up being a bit of a ramble that doesn't bear much relation to the thread or even be coherent.thats because all the mods here hate personal criticism and reject itAnd if it's brought up, you get shills going "Oh, you're mad." and shoving actual criticism to the floor, so it doesn't get fixed.they get away with it because there's no higher power keeping them from doing otherwise, and since the mods here don't actually listen to the community, they get to set their own rules and just say "hurr this is that you wanted no changing it now durr"cheat wouldn't run the site like this honestlyAnd they get away with it because Cheat is having a life and not focused on moderating the site. I don't know man, I don't mind criticism as long as its valid and given in a noninflammatory manner. You can't improve if no one points out what you've been doing wrong. In regards to this bit right here Quote And if it's brought up, you get shills going "Oh, you're mad." and shoving actual criticism to the floor, so it doesn't get fixed. This is something I don't really like either, but in the defense of the users that do this a lot of the cases where this happens really are just that. TBH I'm more concerned about staff dog piling on the user that's made the thread. Those those of you who have been on the staff at some point know that I absolutely hate it when other staff like or quote my post in agreement when I'm handling something in septagon and will always tell them to stop it or flat out delete the post if its a quote in agreement #adminabuse. Some form of lockdown for staff is also put in order. Currently I default to Cheat, Psy, and I being the only ones allowed to respond however I'm also thinking about letting Flee enter during those too. Bringing this back around to shitposts though you're right that the current policy on shitposts is inconsistent as fuck and it's been bothering me for a long while. This is something I'm going to need to bring back up with Psy because it's something that's bogging down this sites moderation in my opinion and this policy is his baby. Whether it's more strict or lax is irrelevant to me. I just want it to be clearly defined and consistent. 4447

Gaming / Re: EA Announces Star Wars Battlefront Season's Pass ~ $50« on: October 12, 2015, 11:43:43 PM »I don't understand why people get upset about season passes. They've been status quo in triple-A games for years now, but we act like it's a huge offense to offer it.Just because a bad thing has been happening for years doesn't make it any less bad. That depends on what you consider bad. You can always wait until all of the DLC for the pass is out before deciding if you want to buy it all at once with a discount or just pick and choose which ones you like the most. Some people really like the games they play and know they're going to buy all the DLC anyway so buying a season pass before all of the DLC is out is a no brainier for them. As long as the consumer is fully aware of what they're getting with their purchase they're not being taken advantage of. If the information about what the consumers purchase contains is both freely and easily obtainable and the consumer chooses not to inform themselves before buying then it isn't the fault of the publisher. If you're referring to the practice of selling DLC (along with other things like microtransactions and the flooding of cheap cosmetic DLC) in general, well that's just a necessity of the current market due to the price of games going down and the demands of consumers going up. The $60 price point is not sustainable for most AAA devs without some form of alternative revenue. By the same token though not every game deserves to be $60, however this entire section of my post would be better suited in a different topic and discussion entirely. 4449

Gaming / Re: Battlefront Demo Discussion Thread« on: October 12, 2015, 03:54:39 PM »So when can we be real about battlefront 2 like people are with Halo 2? Umm, no they really weren't and removing gametypes that nobody likes or plays isn't the same as removing core features. Yes, heroes should be completely game breaking and ruin the flow of the map. Because that's real fun for everyone who didn't get the hero unit. Heroes still are powerful in the reboot, they're just not the map dominating one man army rape trains like they were before. 4455

Gaming / Re: Battlefront Demo Discussion Thread« on: October 12, 2015, 12:52:04 PM »So when can we be real about battlefront 2 like people are with Halo 2? You're implying most of that stuff was worth fixing in the first place. Heroes are actually balanced in the reboot and the "space battles" look to be actual battles in fighters instead of ship boarding battles. The reboot is probably going to suffer from the same problem as BF2 when it comes to game modes, but unlike the previous game, the reboot will have 3 game modes worth playing as opposed to one. I honestly don't think that a GC would work well in the reboot. There simply aren't enough locations for the game to have some sweeping galaxy wide thing when the focus is on quality over quantity for maps. 4457

One guy actually mentioned having an orbital strike and other players told him to save it for the walker, so he did. We had done a rather good job at keeping both of the link things so we had plenty of Y-Wings, too.I can't play for more than two rounds in one sitting. The balance is awful, the spawn killing worse, and with the wonky aiming on top of all that, I get annoyed with it and can't enjoy it. The most important phase is phase 3. I'll write something up from a fly boys perspective when I get home. 4469

Has the PC community really not figured out how to win as the rebels yet? It's gotten to the point where I actually kind of enjoy playing as the rebels more due to what feels like an uphill race against time to win. 4470

As odd as it sounds, I think battlefront is probably the one of the best implimentations of combined arms in gaming.
Unlike say battlefield there's interaction between air and ground forces and one will be hard pressed to succeed without the other. |
