The Flood / Re: Why don't Americans know what an electric kettle is

What are you talking about? Electric kettles are really fucking common in the US.

You mean were a British Colony.

The US was at one point too.

Less than 50 years ago, we had to report everything to Britain.

The Queen still sits at the top of our government officially, though.

That doesn't make you a British colony. You've been legally separated from them since the 80's. Canada is it's own sovereign nation.

The Flood / Maintenance Tuesday
« on: December 07, 2015, 10:54:31 PM »
Expect downtime tomorrow due to server maintenance. The email from the host is below.

Quote
An upgrade to the system infrastructure is scheduled to take place in two phases on Tuesday, December 8 at 9:30pm MST. This upgrade will allow us to increase reliability and uptime for the services we provide.

Phase one includes 15-20 minutes of downtime during which your website may be temporarily unavailable to your viewers. Your website will be back online, viewable, and all interactive features will be fully functional at the beginning of phase two.

During phase two, certain portions of the Bluehost website including the login function, cPanel tools, and webmail will be unavailable. Email generated will not be lost, though you will experience some slowness while sending and receiving mail during the maintenance period.

Thanks in advance for your patience during this upgrade. We're working hard to improve the services that power your website and we understand any maintenance can be an inconvenience.

Worst injury would be the knee story.

The Flood / Re: What color would you say this is
« on: December 06, 2015, 02:12:13 PM »
Nope, it could be a gull maybe, but not a duck.
it's not even close to a gull

it's an amalgam of pixels arranged, processed, and rendered in such a way that it forms the illusory image of "Kaninchen und Ente"--an illustration of an object published in some German humor magazine intended to resemble either a duck or a rabbit--projected onto your computer screen

so it's neither of those two things
Closer to a gull than it is a duck.

I know the intended look, but it ends up looking like something else different due to the shape of the beak.

3596
The Flood / Re: What color would you say this is
« on: December 06, 2015, 01:56:03 PM »
Considering the shape of the beak it cant be a duck.
"i'm gonna be difficult for the sake of being difficult"

that's because it's not a duck--it's an image of a duck, you silly bitch

images are very often not constrained by the rules of our physical reality
in fact, they never are

Nope, it could be a gull maybe, but not a duck.

3597
The Flood / Re: What color would you say this is
« on: December 06, 2015, 01:48:59 PM »
I was talking about the amalgamation of pixels, ya dip.

It is black and blue.
Some people just see it wrong because they have shitty eyes.
Or they're just capable of shifting perspectives.

Is this an image of a duck or a rabbit?

The answer is both. It just depends on how you look at it.

It's not like if you see it one way, it's impossible to see it another way.

Considering the shape of the beak it cant be a duck.

How far away are you willing to stray from stereotypical macho shonen? I can't think of much that's good and fits squarely into that genre.
Willing, but I really do love a lot of fighting lol

Spoiler
One Punch man is ongoing and apparently has a pretty good adaptation.

Spoiler
JoJo's Bizzare Adventure: Stardust Crusaders definitely has the macho, but it also focuses on bizarre humor.

Spoiler
Fate/Zero is probably the easiest Nasuverse work to get into for new people because it caters to people who haven't read any of the light novels or visual novels that are associated with the universe in which is resides. Basically mages summon legendary figures from various points in time (Alexander the Great, Heracles, Medusa, Lancelot, Gilles de Rais, etc) to take part in a battle royal for the holy grail.

Spoiler
Desert Punk is more crude humor based, but it follows a mercenary around as he travels the great kanto desert to take various jobs.
