you could just go into a stall

Why should he be the one who has to accommodate the one who's not suppose to be in there

Why do people have to make a big deal out of a non issue?

If a kids gotta pee a kids gotta pee. They're in there to do their business and you're there to do yours. It's not like you have to hold hands or anything while you're taking your tinkle.

so many military governemts this is going to end well.

it should be fun to see what happens though
so will this be in the same format as the X-COM thread? im not sure how stellaris plays i havent even seen a playthrough yet

probably not quite the same since i wont be actively watching or playing it, i'll be stuck in observer mode and having it run in the background only to occasionally check up on it to see what's happened.

So expect screenshots of the galaxy and a write up of anything interesting that's happened when i do updates.

What's the max amount of empires you can have in a galaxy?

No idea. You have have 40 to start with, but more can emerge due to either being primitive races that made it to the space faring age or because an already existing empire went through something like a civil war and split into multiple different factions.

In one of my games the empire to the north of me had some pretty big ethics divergences among its population and as a result went into a three way civil war that split its territory up between the loyalist oligarchs and a newly formed republic and commonwealth.

From what I've seen, this game looks like a huge time-eater. Sounds interesting though.

It is, and it'll become more of one when the diplomacy and sector politics updates come out.

How much is this game on steam btw?

Last I checked it was 40 USD.
Is it possible to run the game on a laptop?
It really depends on whats inside your laptop.

These are the system reqs

minimum
OS: Windows 7 x86 or newer
Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 640 @ 3.0 Ghz / or Intel Core 2 Quad 9400 @ 2.66 Ghz
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD HD 5770 / or Nvidia GTX 460, with 1024MB VRAM. Latest available WHQL drivers from both manufacturers.
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 4 GB available space
Sound Card: Direct X 9.0c- compatible sound card

Recommended
OS: Windows 7 x64 or newer
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 850 @ 3.3 Ghz or Intel i3 2100 @ 3.1 Ghz
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD HD 6850 / or Nvidia GTX 560TI, with 1024MB VRAM
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Storage: 4 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card

As you can see the specs aren't super high, so I'd imagine you can if you bought it recently. I'd be cautious about making the max amount of stars and AI empires though if you're not sure if your computer can handle it. Not that you'd want to in my opinion cause 40 other empires + however many fallen empires, primitive species that graduate into their own interstellar empires over the course of the game, and the other empires that can be made from civil wars,  granting independence to or liberating worlds under either your or another empires control. Also there's factions that can spring up as a "crisis" if people mess around with dangerous tech such as AI which can start an AI revolution.

Gaming / Sep7 Stellaris Galaxy: Game Start (again)
« on: May 18, 2016, 05:10:42 AM »

Notice: I will be leaving for Hawaii in a couple days so this wont happen until after I get back

So I've been playing and loving Stellaris lately, a game in which you craft your own interstellar empire and try to forge your way through a randomly generated galaxy (of your type choosing) with however many other alien empires you chose to spawn in with you (up to a max of 40 empires including your own). While playing it I came across the console command of "observe" which takes you away from the control of any empire and situates you in a spectator seat while an AI takes control of whatever empire it was you chose to play as. This gave me an idea. What if I placed a whole bunch of sep7 created empires and set them loose in a galaxy with each other?

So this is where you guys come in. I'd like each of you to craft a single empire from the options I give below so I can let this happen. When I'm back from Hawaii I'll start up this thing and give periodic updates on it (basically leaving the game up and running in the background while I do other stuff) so you guys can see how your empires are doing.

For those of you who don't want to make your own and just want to do everything either post saying you want to be part of it and I'll randomly generate something in your name, or post the stuff you care about and I'll fill in anything you didn't post for your race/empire myself. Priority will be given to those who put more work in the unlikely event that this fills up.

Now lets get crafting.

Step 1: Choosing your race

http://www.stellariswiki.com/Species Wiki's don't normally let you embed stuff from them so just post the race type and portrait id if its giving you trouble.

Note: I do not have Mammalian Massive #16 and Anthropoid Massive #14.

Step 2: Naming your race
Self explanatory

Step 3: Picking your traits
http://www.stellariswiki.com/Traits
If you don't want to do any sort of number crunching you can post an idea of what you'd like your races traits to be and I'll try the best I can to represent it with the options available to me.

Step 4: Picking your first ruler
The first ruler will be named after you.

Step 5: Pick and name your Homeworld + star

Pick from one of 7 Planet types and name it. The planet types are as follows.

Continental, Ocean, Arctic, Tundra, Arid, Desert, Tropical

Step 6: Pick your city type
This is just aesthetic and offers no gameplay bonuses. Choose from Mammalian, Avian, Reptilian, Anthropoid, Molluscan, and Fungoid.

Step 7: Pick your government and ethos

Now we can do this a couple different ways. You can either build one with information gained from the wiki. http://www.stellariswiki.com/Government_types http://www.stellariswiki.com/Ethos#Militarist_-_Pacifist

Or you can describe the kind of government you want and I'll try to work with it.

For reference here are the categories. You can either pick from the left or the right side in each category and can have a total of three points allocated to ethos. Fanatic ones are worth two and regular ones are worth one.

Fanatic militarist - militarist ———-- pacifist - fanatic pacifist

Fanatic collectivist -  collectivist ————- individualist - fanatic individualist

fanatic xenophobe - xenophobe ————-- xenophile - fanatic xenophile

fanatic materialist - materialist ————— spiritualist - fanatic spiritualist

Governments are dictated by ethos so if you just want a specific government type and don't want to dabble in ethos you can just post that and I'll try to ascribe the necessary ethos to have it.

Military Dictatorship
Divine Mandate
Despotic Hegemony
Enlightened Monarchy
Despotic Empire

Military Junta
Theocratic Oligarchy
Science Directorate
Peaceful Bureaucracy
Plutocratic Oligarchy

Military Republic
Theocratic Republic
Direct Democracy
Moral Democracy
Indirect Democracy

Step 8: Pick your flag
http://www.stellariswiki.com/Flag_modding
post color and flag ids

Step 9: Pick your starting weapon

Mass drivers, missiles, or lasers

Step 10: Pick your FTL meathod

Warp, Hyperspace, or Wormhole

Step 11: Pick your ship aesthetic
Mammalian, Avian, Reptilian, anthropoid, Molluscan, or Fungoid

You're done.

I gotta admit, I'm not a fan of a lot of things Halo 5 did, but the music and Forge seem to be two things that really stand out to me.
The music is meh compared to Bungie's music.

Blue Team is on par with the music for ODST and outside of ODST the only memorable tracks were the various variations of the main theme.

Does having a strong preference for asian women, particularly Japanese and Korean, count as weebery?

I don't think you have to be a weeb to be attracted to the almond eyes. I prefer red headed girls myself though.

Well yeah that counts, but also vidya and music.

And who the hell writes this stuff?

Fire Emblem: If was the last Japanese game I played. Still need to beat conquest and Invisible Kingdom though. Got busy with other shit and then other games I wanted to play came out so I started playing those instead. I'll probably finish them up on the plane to Hawaii.

As for music I don't really listen to nip stuff outside of the occasional OP or insert I really liked and even then it's pretty sparingly.

That being said though, Bakuchi Dancer is pretty regular on the line up when I do want to listen to some nip stuff.

https://soundcloud.com/phellipehenrique/01-bakuchi-dancer-does

No idea who writes this porn dialogue, but I love it all the same. I think they do it to see if people will actually fap to the stuff the write sometimes.
