The people here primarily play consoles Das.

That's like, just your opinion man.

Armored Core is fast paced to the point where you actually do have to think on your feet since you don't normally have more than a couple seconds to make a decision. The sheer amount of different ways you can build your mechs also allow for a variety of different play styles to come out. In heated fights you often end up having to just rely on instinct.

Dark Souls kind of on the opposite side of the spectrum since it's slower paced, but with the difficulty it presents and the somewhat unforgiving nature of the game it allows for battles to get tense to the point where all of your actions matter and screwing up once can cost you the battle.

If you see something done too many times it ceases to amaze you due to the fact it becomes mundane. While ME didn't show off much, some environments on display were intriguing due to their distinctly alien nature, they look like things you'd never see on Earth.

You might not hold music as a priority, but I do. Music can make or break specific scenes or even the mood of an entire game (as in the case of ODST).

I'm not a huge fan of Darksouls, I like it and I play it, but I'm not crazy about it like some other people here are. I don't bother looking for all the shit in Darksouls either, but even then it's fairly easy to get what you need to upgrade your items. However trying to get specific armor or weapons from certain enemies can be an absolute chore with their abysmal drop rates. Compared to an Ubisoft styled crafting system though, Darksouls is like picking flowers out of your garden.

Verb, I'm not sure what to tell you if you don't think they're moving that fast in AC. Like there's nothing I can really say if you honestly think the speed at which you move in combat is not much faster than in Horizon. You're just saying no for the sake of saying no on this one. Being able to move in a 3d plane instead of being restricted to a horizontal one and being human instead of a mech doesn't really matter when we're talking about how fast paced the combat is. The pace of the combat is just much faster paced in AC than in Horizon. You can cross the entire distance they went in the Horizon E3 demo in seconds.

I honestly don't really care what you think about the quality of AC.

Bungle perma'd you for being a nob, doesn't mean all of their opinions are now worthless.

Sure, off the top of my head there's Armored Core, Dark Souls, Scalebound (last years closed doors presentation looked pretty fun for the non-boss combat. This boss battle presentation was a snooze fest, things may have changed over the year), and Titanfall 2.

I mean I guess if that's your first time seeing something like that it's beautiful. For me it's fairly generic at this point.

You're supposed to put your best foot forward at E3, from what we've heard so far the OST is nothing special.

There's nothing wrong with having to do things in a video game, it's a problem though when it's solely designed to act as filler and waste your time so the Dev can keep you playing longer than you otherwise would have. This was a problem I had with FF13-2s global hide and go seek fetch quest. It does nothing for the game other than to pad out its length and waste my time, the narrative doesn't advance while I'm doing it and it ends up feeling like needless busywork.

No verb, this is fast paced.

I'm not even being contrarian. This isn't exactly an uncommon opinion.
It's uncommon here, at least so far. You have Yutaka, whose head is so empty, you were probably the one who influenced his opinion, so he barely counts.

The baseless comparison to Ubisoft is what gave it away. The only thing I didn't necessarily care for in the trailer was the Mass Effect-style Fallout 4 dialogue choice thing. The gameplay itself looked fantastic, with all the cool weapons and tools they showcased. The combat looked fluid, interesting, and even fast-paced, despite your primary weapons being bows. You can tell it's a game where you have to think on your feet to perform well, and that's exactly the kind of thing you want to see in a game.

It looked nothing like Ubisoft, and as usual, you don't know what you're talking about.

It's the common opinion over on Bungle and most of them own PS4s when it comes to consoles.

The combat looks uninspired and fairly generic, it's nothing I haven't seen done a dozen times before over the past 15 years. The world itself (outside of the creature design, those are actually interesting) is fairly bland, and the music is forgettable. The big thing that sets off a red flag for me though is what looks to be an ubisoft styled tacked on crafting system that's solely designed to act as filler and eat up the players time by forcing the player to run around the world and collect copious amounts of resources while doing repetitive tasks in order to upgrade your items.

We must have different definitions of "fast paced" if you think that was fast paced. When someone says the combat is fast paced, I think of the high octane, high speed  twitch combat of the Armored Core series, not a methodical plunk of arrows into a fuck huge target with the occasional well timed dodge roll.

It looks like a generic open world Ubisoft game and is likely filled with monotonous crap that does nothing but act as filler and waste the players time. That was the biggest disappointment of E3 for me.
Considering your taste (and intelligence), I'm not too worried about what you think about anything, actually. Not sure why you even felt the need to respond.

Considering you're an irrational human being and incapable of having a decent discussion with anyone outside of a select few people I'm not sure why bothered either. Maybe I foolishly thought you'd act like a decent person for once.

So, Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Ever since last year, when it was first announced, I knew I had to keep my eye on it, and--we all saw the trailer except Shitaka--it totally exceeded my expectations. The game looks phenomenal. The weapons, the art style, the gameplay--UGH.

That was my favorite segment of the entire show. What about you guys?

It's not involved with Ubi at all though?

I don't believe so, but that doesn't mean it doesn't can't look like recent Ubisoft titles.

Didn't read the entire thing, but from the first few sentences I can tell this person doesn't know what they're talking about. The unitcap in HW1 was 50 max for normal games. In HW it's 60.
Are you sure you know what you're talking about.

In HW1 the UNSC starts 30 max units. This can be increased to 40. There's one map where you can get a special upgrade to up it to 50.

Take a look at what I said, in HW1 the unit max was 50. By default HW2 has a higher cap and thats without the cap upgrade you can get from your armory/war council.
You said for normal games the cap was 50. 99% of the time you won't have a 50 cap.

While the population has increased the amount of units has decreased. In HW1 a fully upgraded UNSC leader can have 40 marine squads or 40 warthogs. In HW2 a fully upgraded UNSC leader can have 26 marine squads or 16 Warthogs.

Normal games meaning everything outside of Deathmatch where the unit cap was 99.

Balance changes have made marines and warthogs stronger so they're no longer lowest pop units. That's a horrible metric by which to measure this by.

Not sure what you guys were expecting. It plays like a more balanced Halo Wars 1 with some unit additions.
An actual gametype where you fight over bases instead of having small skirmishes at temporary capture points.

The gametype isn't ideal for a test, but outside of that the gameplay itself is pretty similar to the first.

Don't really like this Scorpio and Neo BS. Just read on GAF that there could be Scorpio "exclusives".

>gaf

i found your problem
Shannon Lofftis. "GM of Game publishing at MS" said that in an interview. Was on a thread on GAF. As I said, I'll just wait for someone to clarify that.

He didn't say there might be, he said he didn't know if there would be. When asked for clarification MS said that there won't be any exclusive games.

Damn I have to get a Next-generation console to play the superior version of Skyrim that PC doesnt get.

Thank you for making me laugh lol
What single person who doesnt have it on PC doesnt have it modded.

Hell its probably the same files

All they did was upscale it to 1080p, put in a filter, and throw in FO4s god rays. It's likely that your modded version of skyrim looks and runs better than it.

tanks make you go ow, yes.
They're fine.
If what you said about light/heavy tanks is true, yeah. If not, I disagree.

They confirmed multiple tank classes at the reveal. Light and heavy were mentioned.

If people actually listened to Del Rio, and he wasn't an irrational prick, Halo 5 would have been avoided

If people listened to Del Rio they'd all have been melted down into robots.

No, it just would have skipped 2 levels of Halo 4.

Halo is dead

Pharah is dead
Pharah is written better than anything 343 has ever written/will write

ummmm

she's pretty generic and has nothing noteworthy to speak of, at least 343i can manage to be interesting at times

I wonder if people actually expected to keep it. As if M$ would let it slide.

They've eaten the cost in the past many times so there was a precedent set for it.

The vehicles and stuff look pretty good, glad the covenant design i going back towards bungie than 343.

I'm hoping the environments are just downscaled textures and not detailed for keeping the beta small.

The beta is 13 gigs m8.

So are people gonna get BTFO'd for downloading it?

No, the only time people were banned for downloading something free was when people changed their regions to download games that were free in certain countries but cost money in their own.
