Yall are making me want Stellaris. Is it fun?

yeah, but like other paradox games by buying it early you'll have to wait for content updates and expansions to get some of the more interesting things that can be done with the game, although mods really help stellaris fill the gaps between official updates

so you can buy it now get your fill and return every couple of months when a content update comes out or wait a couple years and buy it for a reduced price with a lot of content updates already installed

https://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/introducing-clone-states-and-the-future-of-access-to-eve-online/

There are restrictions on what f2p accounts can train, but honestly the restrictions aren't that bad since most pvp outside of large sovnul engagements only involve t1 frigs destroyers and cruisers anyway. The only thing that has me kind of "eh" though is that f2p accounts are limited to only flying ships of their chosen "race". I mean every faction has good ships in it, but it makes it hard to f2p people to reship for different kinds of fleet doctrines and kind of forces them to kitchen sink everything. I suppose f2p people do need an incentive to subscribe though, otherwise people would never do it.

Regardless I think this will be a good thing for the game as it will inject a lot of new blood into the game in November.

Anyone know what time the beta is out for everyone tomorrow?

I'd imagine at 12:00 am PST like the insider beta.

G2A

Thanks for being "pro consumer" with a developer scam site
wat

Basically G2A is able to undercut everyone else because they sell stolen goods and keys gained from currency manipulation. Because this against the ToS for a lot of companies you also run the risk of having your game license revoked if they find you playing a game with one of those keys.

tl;dr caveat emptor

This DLC kind of feels like Todd throwing a shitfit over people's complaints.

"Oh, you wanted to be bad? Okay, you can be bad, and because you wanted to be bad so much, you can't be good!"
"You didn't like the settlement system? Okay then, now you can USE the settlement system to DESTROY the settlement system. Just what you wanted!"

I'd imagine that being more Pete Hines than Todd Howard.

itt: morons who fell victim to the hype
Yes people fell for the hype but I'm thinking the majority of us fell for what was being said/shown.

Honestly more of you should have started calling bullshit when they kept showing the same pre-rendered trailers over and over again, refused to show off features they promised before release, and wouldn't actually say anything about the games core gameplay loop.

I don't like the turrets on jeeps. Again.
lol

The only jeep turret I've ever liked in a battlefield like game is the Vulcan and Fury on the Harasser in PS2.

It's actually a Pre-Alpha, not a beta test

it comes out in october, pre-alpha/beta/whatever is just a fancy name for their server testing demo

there isn't enough time between now and release to fix the games problems

Dude could at least write a plan for his shit

After the first saga of DBZ he legit forgot Launch was a character lmao

He's been making shit up as he goes along from the start. The reason Chi Chi married Goku was so he could remember to draw her or something from what I recall.

Can I be real for a second?
This board is fucking atrocious right now. You're all acting like a bunch of whiny, entitled little babies.
A tiny team of people made an entire universe for you to explore. They made it for YOU, and they're going to wake up tomorrow morning and see that instead of enjoying it, this community of "fans" picked out the 3 or 4 things that weren't perfect and are using that to fucking riot.
Guess what? The game was never going to be perfect. It was never going to live up to your hype. It was never going to be everything you'd ever want in a game.
What it WAS going to be was an impossibly big universe filled with mysteries and weird shit I just played it for 2 hours and it was exactly that. What more do you want?
Is it buggy? Sure. Is it repetitive? Maybe. Is the inventory system imperfect and the multiplayer feature questionable and the structure unclear? Sure, fine.
But holy shit what do these people OWE YOU?
How fucking entitled do you have to be to explore an infinite universe in a spaceship and then say "yeah but..."
We should all be fucking weeping in our chairs right now at the sheer size and scale of the achievement. We should be showering the people behind this thing with the praise they deserve for pulling off one of the most inspiring games in recent memory.
Hello Games doesn't owe you the world. Yet they gave you 18 QUINTILLION of them.
If you have the fucking audacity to complain about it then you don't deserve it and you were never fans in the first place.

This has been pasted all over /v/ for about a month now.

I'm not understanding why they should care if you say fuck considering they have a long legacy of making M rated games.

Is the new mod team super zealous or something? Because it use to be the context of saying fuck that mattered, not the word itself.

I'll buy it when it drops to the $40-30 range
Don't get the game even if its free
it's a perfectly acceptable $30 game
It's not a perfectly acceptable anything
if you're a braindead fanboy that overhyped the game, sure

I don't think it would get a play from me even if it was free. As it stands they only reason I can see to play it would be to explore the procedurally generated worlds, but even then I could just download a texture pack for Minecraft and have a better looking experience with more depth.
minecraft isn't a space sim

Neither is NMS so I'm not seeing your point.

I wasn't being facetious at all actually. Just seemed silly how you said it.

Anyway, I won't get into this because we have before and I don't feel like getting into that argument. I will say though that in some cases, your PC port thing has some validation to it (Batman Archam, No Mans Sky, etc). Though for the most part, they perform better on PC than consoles which are sadly outdated.

360 was console golden days
Be careful, you mentioned the 360 in a Verbatim thread .

Correct way to play video games:

1. However the fuck you want to.

Fun is a human construct that doesn't actually exist and only causes suffering because someone else in the world is not having fun. This is why humans should go vegan and kill themselves. This way nobody will be suffering because someone else is having fun and they're not because nobody will exist.

I'm not seeing as how the season pass is ridiculously priced either. If we use BF3 and 4 as an example they released like 5 paid packs which breaks down to $10 per dlc pack.
that's fucking CRAZY
I think a $50 season pass is too much for me. I wait till things go on sale.

The point was that's fairly standard pricing for DLC packs. It's really nothing out of the ordinary.

No I think they should be in it. I just find odd that one of the biggest factors in the war is DLC is all. My argument would be the US came in at the last two years so I'd easily see them being tied off as the DLC since there were a shit ton more battles to go from before they jumped in, as opposed to after. I'm not really complaining (I guess I am, but I'm not hating on them for it) since it's DICE/EA, and no some Euro company doing it. I can easily see why they make the US already main installments.

Also, what do you mean kinda playing as them?

If you switched the US and France you'd still be leaving one of the biggest factors of the war out as DLC. Games cost time and money to make and at some point a product needs to be shipped. It makes more sense to cater to your majority audience in your base game than it does to sell to a minority audience as well so you need to maximize profit. This is why you're seeing the US and UK being featured instead of France and Russia.

DICE is a Swedish company.

I mean what I said. The Harlem Hellfighters were placed under the command of the French military during WW1. They were even awarded French medals and distinctions for their service to them. When playing as the US in BF1 you will not be under the command of the American military.
