The Flood / Re: What were the 90s like?

A childhood without Ipads and selfies, can you imagine it?
As stupid as some people think selfies are, I wish I had more pictures of myself from back then.

Hmm I suppose <.<
My mum took hundreds of photos of me and my brothers when we were little, ones with all my relatives as well.

I don't actively dislike selfies, but there are times when they infuriate me to the point of eye twitching.
There is a poppy memorial display in the tower of london where they filled the moat with poppies to mark the centenary.
Spoiler
If I saw people doing duckfaces and taking selfies there I'd probably push them in the moat <_<

Hey, I was actually there on the anniversary where they did that. I saw morons waiting there all day to see the duke and duchess come in to place the last one and I have no doubt in my mind that they took loads of selfies with duck faces while waiting.

Some Floodian got butthurt and wiped the Flood page.

We lost a lot of good history n shit.

It had been vandalized to hell and back by newfags trying to make themselves e-famous anyway. I'd rather it be gone than to continue being that cesspool of cancer.

That "cesspool of cancer" is extremely amusing.

Having a good ED page filled up by cancerous contributions by newfags trying to make themselves e-famous is not amusing.

I mean ED in general.  ED is a very amusing site.

It can be when pages aren't being vandalized and re-written by people trying to either cover things up or make them e-famous. Unfortunately it's kind of become well known now, so it's hit by that shit pretty often and unless you have someone dedicated to preserving a specific good page its more than likely going to get fucked with by some ass clown.

Aren't certain pages locked? And forgive me for asking but do you think the ED page on the flood could use an update?

Cheerios is probably the best known one.

Then there's bob the brute.

The one written about spartain ken15 and his revenge against the mods at pax.

Then there was another where all the mods had gay sex.

Exploding Piglets actually posted his unfinished "Pax Disaster" story that he was writing on here a while back. It's kind of a PG13 version of the stuff he'd normally write, but it's still good stuff.

The Bungie.net page wasn't. The place isn't exactly notable in any way shape or form.

I really couldn't care less about what the page looks like anymore. It was ruined and it'll never be the same. Even if it was restored it would just be fucked up by a new generation of newfags again.

ED loves petty drama and the flood is a hive of petty drama. And we could also save the pages so that if they were ever vandalized it could be restored.

If you want to go ahead, I don't particularly care anymore though and you won't see me reverting any stupid edits made by people like I use to.

There's quite a bit of content to cover do you have some pointers and good content to use?

Grab some old copypastas about the place. Maybe go over b.next and b.lind. ED isn't fucking wikipedia though so you can't make it some sort of dry exposition. Piglets was fucking great and he really made that article something. It's to bad he retired from his position at ED and no longer goes to the place.

If you've read enough of his stuff you could try to emulate his style.

You're acting like the previous iterations were that much better. Back when only Piglets was doing it the ED page was good. But you seem to forget that Render used the thing after to circlejerk TFS members back when the group was still alive.

That's actually who I'm referring to. As an 11 year vet I forget that those people aren't really "newfags" anymore even though it seems like they just showed up out of the blue only yesterday.

Ktan you have serious case of USI.

I disagree. If you guys knew more about my past, both on the interwebz and real life, you'd know why I act the way I do and why I can become a very serious threat if I become unhinged enough. Not making any threats; just stating I can become one hell of a loose cannon.

Uhuh, yeah, ok, whatever you say.

I'm going to remind people that purposely trying to derail or hijack a thread is against the rules. Going to look through this thread when I get home from work and decide whether or not a verbal warning is enough dependent on the content of the attempted hijacking.
I think we can all agree that this thread was a Spider man thread from the start.

This.

Also, five bucks says I get a ban and you guys just get warnings. Just wait; it'll happen.

By virtue of making this "bet" publicly known and having me see it you have ruined your experiment.

The best way to try and prove that kind of point is to not say anything and simply record. That way you'll recieve the most genuine reaction.

I wasn't planning on banning anyone over this as it's a minor infraction that very few if any people have actually violated since the rules introduction. At most it may have been an "official" warning for a few specific users.

However as I stated earlier everything I just said is now thrown into question due to your post.
Does anyone on here even honestly read the rules?

The rules are really just a bunch of common sense shit so you could still get by without reading them IMO.

However there are a few individuals who obviously haven't read them since we have people who actually manage to get banned on here.

God damn, Activision makes my blood boil. I'd say they could even be worse than EA.

They are at this point <.<

EA is at least trying to turn things around and make amends for being the shittiest company in America three years running. They dropped online passes, Microtransactions are now pointless shit not central to the AAA title aaand they delayed Hardline when people said 'Fuck off, do something better with this'

<.<

An award that in no way deserved might I add. Butthurt gamers just stuffed the ballet box so they could "stick it to the man" while the real worst companies in America (Monsanto, Verizon, Comcast, and various banks) got off scot free.

Cause you know, video games are more important than real peoples lives, families, and businesses getting destroyed.

You literally only care because the missing votes would likely vote democrat. Otherwise you would not give two shits--any of you.

Or, you know. Preventing 40,000 people from voting at all is worse than any current "voter fraud"

No Icy, clearly this is the appropriate reaction to the grand total of 31 cases of voter fraud throughout the entirety of the United States in the 2012 election.
