At first I thought there was no way this could be accurate but when I think about it, I guess I don't really even know many liberals other than on here and on YT so it might be true.

Serious / Re: Is smoking/drinking/doing drugs while pregnant child abuse?
« on: January 21, 2015, 11:40:48 PM »
I would say so, yes. The child becomes much more likely to be fucked up for life and it's entirely the mother's fault for being irresponsible. It's not like...beating your kid senseless, but it's equally bad.
I'd rather be beaten a bit too much than live with the effects of FAS.
This.

I'd say calling it "abuse" might be cutting it short.

Serious / Re: Online voting - could it work?
« on: January 21, 2015, 10:07:20 PM »
We'd definitely see larger turnouts, but I seriously question the abilities of the government to maintain security and prevent fraudulent internet voting.

Remember, these are the people who say that Internet Explorer is the the safest web browser out there. I actually wouldn't doubt if they made the voting portal only work on IE like AKO does...
Could they create their own program to download for voting and would that be any more secure?

Haven't we had major issues with ballot machines being hacked or tampered with during Presidential Elections?
Not really.

Wouldn't ancient civilizations that existed before money was created be closer to communism than capitalism?
Those were barter economies (ex: four chicken eggs for a loaf of bread).  Currency came about because a standard medium of exchange makes conducting business much easier for everyone.

In communism there is no currency.  Communists that I've spoken to say that bartering would still be a common practice (ex: I'll build you a guitar if you build me a canoe), but that profit wouldn't be a motivating factor in the exchange of goods and services.
What about an ancient community where, for example, the men go out and hunt and gather while women stay and make clothes and other things enough to fill the needs of every person.

lolno... It only doesn't work if we switch straight to communism... we need a long transition period from capitalism to socialism to communism (this would take a century or two)...
Even if you could make it work, there's nothing to suggest it'd be superior to capitalism.

I mean, we are comparing it to the system which has given 1pc of human history 99pc of the wealth.

because it's the system that was used in the best ancient civilizations... (because they didn't have a concept of communism)... Also because it was being used during the industrial revolution...
Wouldn't ancient civilizations that existed before money was created be closer to communism than capitalism?

um no.

What happens when the coin falls out of your pocket or gets stuck in the couch. There's just too many holes in this plan.

« on: January 20, 2015, 12:16:50 AM »
Don't care what you think about the man, I can always respect him for protecting those soldiers he was overwatch for. That's not an easy job and a lot of brutal things happened over there the majority of people don't know about. But people will look for any reason to put down an US soldier nowadays, its the cool thing to do.
Since when were we not allowed to criticize peoples' actions?

Where did I ever imply that?
You seemed to imply that everyone itt criticizing Chris Kyle just hate all US soldiers, basically proving Door's point.

Because I  don't make pseudointellectual threads in an order to appear smarter than my peers. That kind of effort just means you're trying to compensate for something.

I can't remember what my last ban was for. I just remember posting in a thread where a mod had made a joke and I made a slightly more offensive, way funnier joke and I was convinced he banned me because he was jealous.
