I stopped going to that shithole in 2014-15 and even back then probably 95% of the b.old crew was gone. I used to check in on private groups every once in a while but I don't really care any more.

Elizabeth Warren dropped out and isn’t endorsing either candidate.

Can an excessively rich person effectively run a country? I imagine they live in a totally different reality and can't even imagine what its like not to play 'life' without cheats on. Especially if the money were inherited or gained through semi-legal loopholes / manipulations. What do you think?
I don't necessarily agree, but Bloomberg has almost cultivated this image with how his campaign(s) have been handled.

Regardless, he's just dropped out.

Klobuchar and Buttigieg have suspended their campaigns ahead of Super Tuesday, for the one guy that voted for Buttigieg. Not sure if you'll be able to vote again or not. I'm pretty sure I checked the box for everyone to be able to change their vote but it doesn't look like I can.

This thread inspired me to try to see all the Best Picture nominations and I managed to see all of them except Little Women (I'd still like to rent it eventually). I think the Irishman would have for sure been my pick to win it.

Probably one of the worst presidents in American history whose only redeeming quality is the incompetence of his administration.

I'll likely be voting blue in November but I haven't decided yet.

The Flood / Re: How's your dating life going?

Not too surprising for a forum like this, but almost non-existent.

I'm at that age where it's starting to get pretty cringe to still be going to college bars/college parties, which doesn't exactly make it easy to meet people. I'm planning on giving dating apps a try after I get some things situated with my career, which has been giving me a decent amount of stress and anxiety.

I'm pissed Ad Astra left cinemas before I heard of it. Its the only 2019 film that looks like my kinda jam.
It seems pretty polarizing for whatever reason but I personally would recommend it.

The Flood / Re: New Years Resolutions MEGATHREAD
« on: January 03, 2020, 03:34:48 PM »
Not really a New Years Resolution guy but since it's basically a new decade and I have things to improve, why not:

1. Work out: I've been lifting off and on since 2010 and have made very gradual improvements over the years. Hopefully this will be the year ya boi really gets swole.

2. Try out online dating: Seems like I hardly meet any new people now that I'm out of college. Never really given things like tinder/bumble much of a chance.

3. Appreciate time with friends and family: self-explanatory.

4. Read: I think I said this same thing last year but I also ended up reading more books in 2019 than probably any year. It's interesting how much more enlightening reading a book is than just doing online research/watching YouTube videos/etc.

Anything else is more personal than I want to share lol.

The Flood / Re: Disney's 'Star Wars': The Rise of Skywalker
« on: December 22, 2019, 01:14:56 PM »
I see most reviewers just complaining about the plot, but the main issue with the movie is that the pacing is frantic and it feels very uncinematic like none of the other movies do. It kind of reminded me of Spectre, oddly enough. A lot of people are going to say that this should have been 2-3 movies but they're wrong. The main plot is really simplistic when you think about it. I'd say it's easily one of the worst of the franchise. There's a lot more I can say but this is one of those movies that you start to forget about immediately.

Serious / Re: 2019-2020 Trump Impeachment Trial
« on: December 19, 2019, 04:32:15 PM »
If they were serious about wanting him removed they would have came up with these same articles back in 2017, or even last year.
What do you mean by this? The articles are based on evidence that came out this year. To my understanding, very few democrats were suggesting impeachment before the Mueller Report.

It seems like every previous Star Wars movie has had a really positive initial reaction that goes down in the weeks that follow.

So with that said, my expectations are ground-level.

« on: December 19, 2019, 01:16:27 PM »
I'm not sure I understand the logic of criticizing impeachment when they can't guarantee removal (which has never happened). It seems pretty clear that Trump is just going to keep breaking rules; why not punish him for it? Frankly, the only people that seem to be putting on a show for the sake of their careers are the republicans.

It obviously all depends on whether GvK bombs or not but he's probably right. At this point it seems clear that none of these movies will pass a billion dollars, if that's what they were hoping for, so they'll probably just keep developing them one at a time and then stop when another one doesn't make a profit.
