The Flood / Re: Winds of Winter still not finished, still a while off
« on: January 03, 2016, 06:04:42 PM »

Can someone please explain to me why people take Verb seriously and let him derail every thread with low quality bait?
There wasn't much discussion to begin with. The thread is about a book being late so you're not going to have much to talk about. Also the thread really isn't derailed when we're talking about the books in a thread that's about one of the books.
No, you see, it's derailed because I'm expressing a negative opinion. Only positive opinions are allowed in GoT threads, because GoT fanboys cannot handle criticism or any level of scrutiny.
If this is all you got out of our conversation, you're fucking retarded. I couldn't care any less that you dislike GoT, it's the fact that you have to make sure everyone knows by being extremely obnoxious and confrontational. It's like every single thing you post is designed to get someone who disagrees to respond.

Anyways, we're like four months away from season 6 with GRRM not even mentioning anything about a release date, so I don't take this as much of a surprise.

I can see Jon's parentage being revealed this season, kinda sucks that we have to see it in the show first but eh.
Eh, if a reveal that's already been widely accepted among the fanbase is the worse thing to be spoiled this season, I'll be fine. What's really going to piss me off is when it starts to spoil who survives and who doesn't in a shitty, simplified way.

Spoiler
Like Stannis?
Spoiler
Possibly. I'm currently not expecting him to die in the Battle of Winterfell but I can't imagine he'll have a key role in the last book. I kind of think the characters they decided to kill off in season 5 were characters that they didn't know where to go with for the show. I mean they cut Aegon and he is obviously going to have a huge role in TWOW so it's hard to say what level of accuracy the show can be held to at this point. I'm more so talking about the A-list characters like Jaime or Arya. If one of them dies, then they surely die in the books.

This term is so cringe-inducingly over-used.
>le post/image used against me is always cringy/overused response

Why is it considered throat-shoving when I express a negative opinion of a show you like, but it's not considered throat-shoving when you express a positive opinion of a show I don't like? Cool double standards, bro.
You posted in this thread four times before anyone responded to you. It's not like you bring some interesting perspective regarding the series you've never read. You could have just made one post like you usually do saying how Game of Thrones sucks but it's painfully obvious you just wanted to cause conflict. And then you constantly call other things "cringy".

That would imply that I'm trolling. Sorry that there's people out there who actually have taste in the world.
Shoving your shitty opinions down people's throats for the sole purpose of starting an argument would be considered bait.

Hillary will obviously be the biggest winner.

More talking about the GOP, since the Democrats are essentially a two horse race.
I know  ;)

I agree with all of your complaints. The film seemed like such an appeasement to the prequel criticisms that I wouldn't be surprised if Plinkett was a head consultant.

I loved everything involving Kylo Ren and his upbringing and all the characters were good but the story falls short beyond that. They could have really done some interesting things furthering the story, 30 years after ROTJ, but it was basically a copy/paste where the villains are all powerful and the puny rebellion is still just a resistance movement.

If they would have adapted the story written by George, I feel like the movie would have been amazing. They at least should have involved him in the design of planets and creatures.

When I first finished it, I ranked them 5>4>7>6>3>2>1, but now I'm thinking 5>4>6>3>7>2>1.

I'd say Class is further to the left. It only seems like he's not because he has a few atypical views.

I'd say there are more left-wingers on this site but the members that actively post in Serious tend to be on the right.

As far as whose more right-wing, I think it'd be easier to rank them into categories:
I'd put someone like myself in tier 1, you, Turkey, and Mordo in tier 2, Das and PSU in tier 3, and Door and Slash in tier 4.

I don't know who Cadenza is and I dunno if Slash quite belongs in the last tier but I think it's where he would put himself.

I'm hoping Rey's parents don't turn out to be a big deal. I'm thinking Luke put her into exile as a kid when Ben turned against the Jedi to protect her, and that's that.
That was my hope directly after seeing the movie. I always hated the idea of every new character just being a child of an older character. I think it's more likely, however, that she's Luke's kid, considering Han, Leia, and Kylo all seemed to know who she was and the CGI said Luke's sword was her destiny.

I'm just confused as to what role Finn is gonna have now.
A side ally character like Han or Lando.

The Flood / Re: So what are the general thoughts regarding to TFA
« on: December 20, 2015, 07:27:08 PM »
One of those movies that I loved going out of it but loses some of it's appeal the more I think about it. I was skeptical about Starkiller base as soon as I heard about it and it seems my concerns were completely justified. I can't even imagine what was going through the screenwriters minds when they decided to add another death star-type plot device that destroys some unimportant planets and then gets destroyed in the end like the plot of the original. If the base had any sort of actual impact on the series or had been scrapped entirely, I think the film would have been much better.

They didn't see it early (if you mean before yesterday), they read spoilers.

And yes they can make a thread like this since it's marked with a spoiler tag
I didn't say they can't, I just wondered why they did.
