That's bad. Tories are cutting funding for police departments, restricting the interwebz, and May is saying she'll take away human rights if it gets in the way of terrorism, which is easily a slippery slope.

The word makes sense for either. Words change, and every single person on the planet (unless you're some alien who is always happy) has triggers.
Sure but I wouldn't go toting it around as a very legitimate use of the word when it's pretty much exclusively used by a niche group of milenials. Same thing goes for the word "cuck".

Fans did not come up with any of that, it was all authors and writers hired by Lucasfilm or Disney, or it was in the movies but it wasn't as obvious as Morgan Freeman showing up to explain what's going on.
Either way, it was another source that had to come in to tie things together better than George was able to. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, but most people would probably say that they don't want to look beyond the movies for their Star Wars information. And I've always taken things like the 9gag comic as more of a criticism of George's writing rather than a criticism of the universe, because it's pretty obvious that he was approaching things with a completely different mindset from OT to Prequels. It's like the massive flaw in the Death Star's design with its reactor being so exposed. Even though Rogue One exists and explains it, I still consider it a valid criticism of Ep IV because George had no intention of explaining it.
